The previous gen pistol was a finicky about ammo. The current model, less so. So far I have never had a cycling problem with factory american eagle or Remington. You can swap the recoil spring for 38 spec. but you need 38 +p for it to work.
Note however, that Coonan say no aluminum cased ammo on the website and I've seen videos that confirm if doesn't work well.
In terms of part, a number are the same as standard 1911s.
