I can't imagine a scenario where a belt-fed RPD was allowed to be non-restricted with no belt limit given the current political climate.

But good lord I would throw 3-5K into one if it actually happened.

Political climate or no, the law is the law and the guidelines are clear. And tbh, the RCMP has in retrospect been following it. If its truly semi, and assuming the ducks are in a row, it will pass. Now that said, if its like the scar etc where it is easily converted....

There is no need to wait for someone else to do it, if you are serious about getting one. $US$2100, plus export fees, taxes and shipping is going to be under $3k.
Call the mfr, see if they are registered for their products to be exported.
If they are, make arrangements for one of the US exporters to take delivery of the gun, send them your IIC, and wait for the processing.
If the thing passed ATF's inspection, from the standpoint of convertability, its semi auto.
Might be an idea to call the CFP, find out if the SFSS has inspected one.

With the interest in the M37s and M2s, this is an item that North Sylva might want to investigate.
There is obvously interest, and the Cdn retail should be attractive.

The DSA RPDs I toyed with at Shot Show were very cool. However from what I understand DSA doesn't have export licensing, hence why we don't see their AR-15 variants up here.

Ahhh more CGN wisdom. The RPD has nothing to do with an AK.

I'd buy a RPD or PKM semi in a heartbeat.
