That said I have since verified, nobody indicates that the PKM is a kalishnikov variant, and just looking at the freaking things receiver a gun nutter would know this. It seems I confused the RPK with the RPD was all. I guess I get to slap you back?? Ohhhh, this could get FREAKY!!!
PKM is on the RCMP list as an AK variant...

May not look like one, but it was designed by Kalashnikov and based off of the AK series of rifles... We will not see any PKMs as fun as they would be, RPDs though we will definitely.

The PKM is essentially an upside down AK.

Really? What makes you sure to make such a statement?

Not an AK... No parts interchangeability... no way to make it full auto... no brainer... but that is also assuming the RCMP examiners actually have brains...

Well we all know that this seems to be the case more and more.

Why don't one of you guys/gals that would like to buy one of these RPDs just contact the RCMP yourselves tomorrow and see what they say about it. Send them the link of the US retailer that sells them so they have a better idea what you are talking about since if you mention an RPD, the odds are they will not have a clue what you are talking about. If I was interested in buying one that is what I would do, but since I am not the one interested in getting one there is no need. Do some research on it yourselves instead of waiting for North Sylva to do it. If it is allowed to be imported then just use one of the export/import companies to bring one in for you. Will probably be cheaper and quicker then waiting for a dealer to do it since they will have to have enough pre-orders before they even proceed.

    Just a thought.

I have to admit, they are cool looking though.
