I'm another recent proud owner of a JW-20. I love this rifle. My takedown latch was a pain too but after a few minutes with a file it's nearly perfect. I feel like I might need to ream the hole in the stock a bit too; loading rounds got hung up unless the gun was held at a steep angle. Aside from the finicky things, this gun is fun to shoot and I can see it easily becoming a favourite. If only I could track down the scope base though...

After that it worked great and is very accurate.
Could you elaborate on what you had to smooth out? I had some mis-feeds with some bulk Federal ammo.

I had the same exact issues with mine. A real pain to take down to clean and the feed hole in the stock needed to be carefully reamed out a bit to prevent the rounds from getting jammed as I loadred the gun. For $160 however, its a GREAT deal, very accurate and fun to shoot.

The inside of my cartridge guide was really rough. Rounds sometimes got hung up. I took it out and smoothed the inside a bit. Almost no hang ups now. Could use just a bit more smoothing, I just haven't gotten around to taking it out again.

    Thank-you

Now to find one. Found one on E-Bay from Texas, but won't ship here.

just bought one from Cabelas last week, I think they are still in stock if you don't mind buying from a non sponsor.
