I guess it's more a matter of how it feels then..
Judging from how mine initially looked, compared with yours; I think you will be happy when do get around to cleaning it up, regardless of what method you use (except maybe dishwasher).

Those rifles nothing more but cheap knock off of russian SKS. There tons of info about on Internet . I would definitely go ahead with russian SKS instead if not have two already. But Marstar enthusiasts should buy one or better two of those to support his business as it seems that he has a hard time being with mostly empty shelfs of his Internet store for soo long time . But be carefull . You can end up like YANGSTR from previous page ,who's buying of combo , rifle and ammo for $350.00 finally cost him $500.00 and month waiting ....Just as I said before : support Marstar , he needs your help ! Only be prepare for some delay and lack of communication ...

    ALEKSHIN;
"Those rifles nothing more but cheap knock off of russian SKS."
Strange that you say this, these rifles were built on Soviet equipment, in a factory built by and supervised by Soviet technical advisers back in the 1960s....

"hard time being with mostly empty shelfs of his Internet store for soo long time "
What the hell are you talking about, get your facts straight before uttering such misinformation....

" rifle and ammo for $350.00 finally cost him $500.00 and month waiting"
I'm sorry comrade BUT in this country we have taxes which are added to the order as well as shipping cost.... Are we doing something wrong ??

"Only be prepare for some delay and lack of communication ... "
I am getting fed up with your unsupported accusations and misinformed statements
In must be something in the air you are breathing ?? We have many clients in the GTA and they are pleasant and logical people, I guess there are exceptions to everything

I apologize to all members here for the stalker (ALEKSHIN) who insists on infesting this chat room.... Not much we can do, lock the thread ? Can't do that it would not be fair to others with information and comments to share....

I have two of the Chinese Military SKS rifles. Awesome guns, no complaints on my end.

Amusing as this thread is, I thought I would chime in as well. I recently purchased a Chinese SKS from Marstar and looking forward to see how fast I can burn through a crate of 1440 cartridges. Good value and fun to shot. Some of my buddies are going to be buying these from Marstar as well.

Wow, what an interesting Sat morning read...

Anyhoo, often who/where you buy your guns from does matter. Some retailers are more careful and fussy about the guns they pick to add to their inventory.

I bought my 1st SKS from Cabelas. It was not in great shape, the laminate stock was outrageously loose and sloppy, the pin-job was an abomination, etc. (Not roasting Cabelas, I have since bought other products from them, but this is fair-comment.)
I put some work and money into it, and it's a nice gun now...but it was not as advertised. I complained (politely), and never heard back from their "Russian gun guy".
I learned from that 1st experience and I do believe that hearing about others' experiences...in this case, buying SKSs...is helpful.

I recently bought a Russian SKS from Cabelas.Rifle I received was in new condition.Due to my size I installed the ATI stock to increase length and a rear scope mount.Had it to the range last week. What a blast to shoot. If John's SKS are the same product as mine they are an excellent buy.
