The FRT on this one is going to take quite a while boys, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Please GUN God's bring this to us.
Never get here
4 damn years? The rcmp are way overstepping their authority here... Aren't some guns at like 8 years, still unclassified? The rcmp lab should be left for criminal investigations. It was never built for what the liberals are making it do. A new lab should be built.
This is idle speculation on my part, but it seems as if the FRT prerequisite for importing firearms is being used as a means of preventing more "scary" affordable, centerfire, semi-auto, mag fed rifles from getting into the hands of responsible Canadian gun owners.
The examples from this thread are only marginally different than readily-available NR firearms, and the RCMP knows it.
If these rifles were, for example, actually "readily convertible to fully automatic fire" then the Firearms Lab should simply prohibit them. If not, they should allow them to be imported. Simple as that.
The fact that many "scary" rifles are being held in limbo by the firearms lab is indicative of the FRT process being abused. There is no good reason for this sort of process taking so long, and if there does happen to be a good reason, then the prospective importer should be informed of the reason for the delay.
Federal overreach is much more of a problem in the States than it is here, but it is still clearly a problem within agencies such as the RCMP.
