Well I certainly hope two things.
1. the Type 81 sells for sub $1,000 and
2. venders bring in LOTS of AK mags
I will buy one for sure if they are $800-$900 or less. Anything more would be tough to justify IMHO.
Question: The Type 81 takes AK mags--but they don't activate the bolt hold open, but the dedicated T 81 mags do.
So, do they work like the hold opens on the Yugo M70 AK's? (meaning that when the mag is removed, the bolt slams closed)
OR does the T81 have a mechanism to lock the bolt back when a mag runs dry? Anyone know 4 sure?
Now I know modifying the receiver is illegal but how about pushing the trigger guard forward to the mag release attach a new trigger to a push bar and modify stock? . Bam! Instant ak looking monstrosity . As long as barrel length is good and OAL length on the non res imports
Modifying a receiver is not illegal.
