    Accuracy for both long and short are the same, and theres only a small difference in weight that you may not even notice it. Shortys advantage is pretty much being short, and oh because of that it has a higher front sight post with a tip that is very sharp - so sharp you can actually thrust it into a zombies head like a bayonet.

    Longer barrel should be more accurate.

    Longer barrel should improved accuracy as well as bump the muzzle velocity. At least in theory it should work that way.

    The difference in length is only about 3 1/2 ". Would this really effect muzzle velocity or accuracy?

    Muzzle velocity on a 308 is about 67 ft per sec per inch of barrel ,, if I remember correctly

    So 3.5 X 67 = 234.5 ft per second increase in velocity over a shorty ..

    A little more umph down range
