    Vertx BDU Multicam pants

I stopped by the store last weekend while in Vancouver. This place is the Mark's Work Wearhouse of tactical gear. I had been wanting these pants for some time but need a fitting as I've tried the Propper ones which don't work. Checked out the 5.11's but when it came around to it the Vertx fit the best. I picked up a few other items and I just had to come back the next day for more goodies. Thanks for the discount.

I have some Vertx pants on order, the Phantom LT's how did you find the waist sizing, was it on the larger? or smaller size? with respect to what you usually wear?
Just to be safe I went up a size. Cheers

I have the normal and LTs in ranger green and grey, respectively. I'm usually, without fail, a 32 waist. However, I found the 32s a bit snug. There is elastic in the waist so it maintains constant tension. Perhaps I'm used to my jeans and CADPAT riding a bit lower, but based on the inseam, they want to sit higher. With the LTs I went up to 33. After an initial washing and hot drying they shrank just the right amount. Couple that with the fact that I'd always wear a belt anyway, I think the one size up was right on the money.

I really like both pair, but I find the normal ones can get quite hot, even on cooler days. Durable for sure, but if/when I get more pairs, I will stick with the LTs and keep one, maybe two normals for cold use.

Also, FYI the grey is nice, but a shade darker than my Naga hoody in Wolf.

All that to say, I love the pants.

Thanks, for now I'm just trying one pair, however these may be a good option for work.

I'd second going up a size with Vertx pants. I was issued the full Vertx ensemble for a job and the pants fit on the tight side compared to normal sizing. Once washed they were too snug in the waist and too short in the legs.

Ya roger that, I went up one size, how much did they shrink in the leg? I'm guessing it's best to wash them first before hemming the inseam to length.

I didn't see too much shrinkage in the legs, but I also went 32-32, though I'm technically a 30 inseam. Figured bit longer would be better. They're a tad baggy over my boots, but not sure I care to hem. I saw a greater change in the waist.

They shrank by close to an inch in length. Like Arcteryx they are built for the emaciated rock climber type "athlete". So if you like doing squats its probably good to go up a waist size as well to make sure your thighs fit into the pants.

The Propper pants had too high of a crotch for my comfort but plenty of room around the thighs. The 5.11's were too tight around the thighs for me, pity I really want to pick up a pair of their tactical pants as well. As a comparison if you wear Calvin Klein then you should be ok with these. As someone put it the Vertx fit in the climber type "athlete" which is probably my category. The waist is spot on but they will need to be hemmed a bit, nothing unusual. I didn't see a Tru Spec so no comment there.

I hang dry my jeans and pants. My pair of vertx haven't appeared to shrink at all.
