I am curious if you guys got a chance to test the accuracy of this rifle, and if so how did it do? Comparing it to lets say a Norinco AR-15? As much as I like the cool factor of the bullpup design it still has to be able to hold its own at the range...

I'm actually very impressed with the accuracy of the T97NSR.

Here are 3 random images of the accuracy results of the T97NSR off the assembly line.

Thanks,

My Chinese is a little rusty, can someone explain what were looking at? Based on the scale it looks like 4MOA. Is this scale measuring in inches, or cm?

The unit should be centi meter .
Two reason:
1. China do not use inch.
2. Have you seen a target paper over 60 inches tall, over 40 inches wide?
I translated the picture, but don't know how to post it.
I posted it in my facebook.

Calibre magazine has a review in their July/August edition.
They said that they had no failures with a variety of ammo, 1.5 inch groups at 100 yds, "butter-smooth" charging, that it has a "well made and efficient gas system with an astoundingly slick action" and that the trigger is actually "excellent" for a bullpup.

Does the container ship have some sort of GPS tracking over the pacific that we can follow? Kinda like the Santa radar the news has on Christmas eve?

Tony does it say at what range this group was fired at.

2.2cm at 100m would work out to be 3/4 moa, which I kinda doubt:rolleyes: So it must be either 50 or 25m ( 1 1/2 or 3 moa ).

Do I really need to post those 100m groups AGAIN!?

I had a Tavor and more than one 97 but I did not shoot them side by side.
But in my opinion they shoot different tho.

This was shot this with my Type 97 in a friendly competition a month ago.
My rifle: Benchrested, Zeiss scope.
Distance: 109 meters.
Each group is 10-shot. The squares in the grid of the paper are 1" x 1".
Shooter: Lector He used his own ammo.

Between group 6 and 7 he took a break.

They were previously brought into the country (4 years ago?), but were deemed prohibited by the RCMP due to them being easily convertible to full auto. From what I gather they had a design that they hired the chinese to do, but they simply converted some fully auto type 97 rifles to semi auto and sent them here. The police did an inspection on arrival to Canada and discovered this. Not all were converted autos but many were apparently.

This new design has a receiver that does not accept any parts from the original T97 from what I understand and hence it is non-restricted.

I hope that helps.

It has been for sale before. The RCMP classified it as a non-restricted, but then looked at it from an unknown angle and went "That is so prohibited."
