I know everyone wants those in Canada. Main question is how much do you think those rifles worth to the average buyer. Mind you there is no inspection before we buy them so there is no information to what condition those are in. It is a big lot that offered to the dealers. Lets see who can cough up the money. Canada or some other country :)

I'd say make them reasonably priced. Personally, I don't want to see a situation like we have with RC Mausers: high price, state of decay.

Sure, with time you could probably end up selling them for $1000 each. However, that would be a lack of respect towards us all who don't have import permits, y'now what I mean?

$2000 to compete with the ones in the EE. :)

Seriously though, I would expect about $600-$700 retail pricing.... the way the other ones were priced about 2 years ago. I found a really nice example a few years back and paid $750, but they were already on the upswing of pricing.

I would and will pay probably whatever the dealers end up asking for. But id like to see $700-$800 range. I'm guessing higher... But hoping for lower.

^This. Maybe even $500 if they're in really rough shape. Rumour has it these Garands were quite well used before being stowed away. I would like to have one for a shooter though, even if it wasn't that pretty. Even at $700 I could probably squeeze it into the budget, for that price I would expect it not to be a total piece of #### though.

Sight unseen, I'd probably be willing to go for $750 or so.

How many rifles are in the lot, and how many pre-orders would you need to start bringing them in?

Lot that was offered to USA was 190k of rifles. This would flood Canada if we buy all of them.

It most certainly would flood the Canadian market! Now, having said that, I could see spending $500-$600 for one in good shape... Past that & other stuff takes priority, like new manufactured stuff...

I Saw some pictures of the Korea m1 Garands many years ago
Stacked like lumber on skids
Saw a news clip of them just throwing them in to piles like you would throw firewood

Were these fired with corrosive ammo??
Were these put away with Cosomiline?
Were these even cleaned before going into storage?
What was the storage like?

$150 to $200 tops---> sight unseen for these Garands

A surplus rifle that you buy
= Crate till you buy it
=cosomile
= Stored in a dry place
=$200-$300

If in good to very good condition, around $650. If they turn out to be mostly in poor to fair condition, I'd not be in it.

My guns, even the collectable ones, must be shooters (and not the dust it off every 2 years and fire 20 shots sort of shooter). If they're worn out they're of little to no interest at collector prices.

+1 on this

This...

Considering it might chop my ww2 springfield value by a lot.. And that they are in apparent bad shape.. They would have to be pretty cheap.. Like 250-500$
