Am wondering if there is crown land to shoot non-restricted between Brandon and Winnipeg?

Looking for a non range place near the city to legally shoot some rimfire. A buddy of mine is getting his PAL this week and I wanna take him out. A good excuse to break in my new 10/22.
If you want to tag along I can probably take you if you are near the south end.

    Thanks

Looking to find some areas to do some gopher hunting around the Winnipeg/Ste. Anne area. Preferably some crown land or some pasture. I have a .22 and a friend of mine is going to be buying one in the coming weeks so we would like somewhere to put them to use. Any info is good info thanks!

I know this has been answered before in the past, but seeing as it's been a few years things have most likely changed...

I'm about to inherit a few handguns (alas, non-antique) from my grandfather, and now find myself needing to get a PAL. But first I need to take the CFSC (along with the restricted firearms course). Know any good places in Winnipeg?

I did my course with this Vince:

Great guy, and its really cheap, and I mean reallly cheap only $135 for both courses. Its hands-on, and no reading he explains everything step by step.

I ended up going with prairiefirearmslicensing.com as the times and locations worked out for my schedule.

This is legal in the floodway, you'll have to pay attention to municipal by-laws respecting hunting/shooting hours. St. Clements is legal 7 days a week.
Hwy 59 North at the 59er gas station where Dunning Road crosses the water is basically the start point for that municipality. You can shoot everywhere north of here on the floodway so long as you are not shooting centerfire (also making shotgun legal here).

Not south end but its open.
