    It's fairly safe to say that every current owner of an effected CZ rifle is disappointed.
    The Conservatives are running out of time to do something positive.
    Our Government trusts rivets more then law abiding gun owners.

    just taking it is one thing, the criminal charges you will face because the government didn't notify you to turn it in is a whole other matter
    If it's either loud, obnoxious, fast, hated by the general population or any combination of these, I OWN IT!!

    I received the out of office from Peter Kallus. It concluded with the following statement "If# you are writing concerning CZ 858 in Canada, please note that# CZ did not recieve any official statement from Canadian Goverment regarding the change of# the status of the weapon.
    CZ will inform all owners of CZ 858 through# our exclusive partner for this weapon in Canada, Company Wolverine,# about our next steps."

    When sending your emails you may want to include the following link to the RCMP website:

    I never got an answer, auto or otherwise.
    Life begins at 40. Recoil begins at "over .40". Coincidence? I don't think so.

    My Email to them.

    Dear Mr. Kallus ,Mrs.Tomkova;

    Hello, I am writing you today to inform you of a situation that is developing due to my ownership of one of your very fine CZ 858 rifles. I am a Canadian citizen fully licensed to own firearms within my country and bought a non restricted CZ 858 rifle a number of years ago . My family and I enjoyed many fine outings with this firearm shooting both targets and game without ever experiencing a problem. It was cleaned and cared for regularly and remains in excellent condition and great working order.
    The issue I experienced with this particular gun is that overnight I became a criminal through a change of registry due in large part to a construction method employed by CZ. In Canada any firearm built on a converted Full auto receiver (even if it had never been a full auto complete firearm) falls under a prohibited category. My firearm was one of those deemed by the police to be a converted automatic. After a few thousand letters to Members of Parliament from myself personally, and many more from the 12000 or so other CZ owners we were given an amnesty of a couple of years to shoot our firearms again (with a deadline looming at which we will lose our valued possessions). But this can only happen at approved shooting ranges and at all times the firearm must be transported, stored and treated as a prohibited weapon which adds significant cost to ownership compared to owning a non restricted firearm in our country.
    I would like to congratulate you and your company on making excellent firearms but personally I will likely not purchase another CZ product until there is some resolution from the current legislative fiasco .

    Thank you for your time and help in finding a solution to your many loyal customers dilemma.

    Mil Specs
