We have had no need (so far) to get parts so I really don't know how "easy" it will be to do so. Generally we would work with the manufacturer/distributor to get warranty support if a gun we sold had a warranty issue. That could mean sending the gun or part back to the supplier for warranty work by them or it could mean having them send us the replacement part (as they deem appropriate) and having us install/exchange that part.

In all cases warranty is the responsibility of the manufacturer and we simply help facilitate that process.

While your question wasn't very specific, it sounded more as if you are trying to source parts and that's not something we're doing with FN at this point (may change in future but not at this time).

    Hope that answers your question.

yes it sure does Mark, thank you.

I never gave any thought to warranty work for my guns. I was asking more for
just-in-case scenarios. if something breaks down and needs replacing, and if i can do it, i will.

having some extra parts never hurts!

    thanks again,
    florin

Sry to chime in here, but if you want info on the FN firearms a good site to look at is FN forums google it.

I have the FNP 45 and have well over 6K rds through it, no problems yet.
Also in regards to parts, they dont sell them you have to send the gun back to FN for service its free. Lifetime fixs. They even pay postage both ways but i havnt had to send mine yet. I dont know how easy it would be to mail back to FN from Canada ie: paperwork.

    BTW its a great firearm.

glad to hear some good things about this gun! i can't wait to get mine.
lifetime warranty is a great feature! but you better have a backup gun just in case you have to send it out for repairs, i'm guessing it would take a lot of paperwork and time for shipping out and back into the country.

Mark, sorry to keep pressing on you about this gun, but I have started a polled thread asking how many people would be interested in buying the new FNX-9mm or FNX-40s&w. Looks like there are people out there that would buy this gun if it could be made restricted.

Could you find out if it would be possible to import these guns with restricted barrel length? If it is possible, how many buyers would you need to start importing them?

    thanks for your time!

None of the US distributors are even showing inventory on the FNX guns yet... FNP's are available and there is a manufacturer who will make me 106mm (ported) barrels for the FNP... I can get 40S&W or 9mm Conversion... and that would not require large quantities (maybe 10 or 20 at a time).

As for the FNX we would first have to find out if the barrels are the same as the FNP series of if they are different... if the FNP barrel won't work in the FNX then there's a problem as it means having to fund and wait for a complete custom barrel to be developed and tested (from scratch). The manufacturer won't be interested in doing that unless we can give them an starting order of 100 to 200 barrels and frankly I don't see that happening, not at this time anyway.

If the FNX will take the FNP barrel then it's easy... we just need to be able to source the guns (in 40S&W) and get enough orders to do buy 10 to 20 barrels)... there is one other small problem and that's the magazines. The gun is not offered (at this time anyway) with 10 round magazines so there's going to be costs involved in modifying the magazines for importation.

Given the cost of the gun... cost of the barrel... cost to modify the magazines (3)... cost for export permits, brokerage, DUTY, etc... you can figure this gun is going to be somewhere over $900 (could be much more) and I'm not sure how many buyers there are at that price.

    Hi Mark,

I just received a response from FNH USA regarding the FNX9/40. The barrels are NOT interchangeable very very very sad. I guess we will never see this gun in Canada.

FNP9 is still a nice gun, would like to buy one if other people were interested.

Does Dlask make handgun barrels?.... hmmm
