Is there enough material on the rear sight to drill a peep sight instead of cutting a channel all the way down?
Is there enough material on the rear sight to drill a peep sight instead of cutting a channel all the way down?
Everything is a lie! I'm telling the TRUTH!
Foxer uses a bungee sling and a cheap plastic key holder that attaches to your belt. The saddle ring hooks onto the key clip for walking.
I still need to figure out how to attach my sling. I shoot left handed. The most comfortable is with it attached to a strap around the stock. Any ideas?
Drill a hole through the stock
Mount a sling loop to the stock with a screw
or put a piece of leather or thick woven nylon belt under the metal butt pad and hang it out the side you want to attach to......punch a nice grommet on their and you done.
Here's a quick on I made up with some woven nylon but I think it would be better with a thicker piece and eyelets. I just cut it to shape and welded the sides with a lighter and then used a torch and a nail to melt out the holes.
It's nice having a connection at the back of the stock because it makes cycling the action a lot smoother by holding the rear end up.
Here's my ghetto 2 point bungy innertube sling....not pretty but worked pretty good. The innertube part is redundant what I need to do is exchange the metal hasp that came with the bungy sling for an overlapping velcro flap ala surf board leash for the connection.....I'd rather not have the metal on metal.....

I really do like the idea of that "gun-bucket" holster that Hungsolo mentioned and illustrated. I'd originally envisioned carrying the Ranch Hand when I was fishing on the fairly remote rivers around here (the Livingstone, the Oldman, the Castle), and in that case (for the walking in-and-out) I'd simply carry it in my hand or the side-sleeve of my daypack.
Onsite ... standing in or alongside the water ... the gun-bucket idea would seem perfect for keeping the firearm secure and readily available.
Until I fall in ... which inevitably happens ... and then I'd have to screw-up my courage/confidence and finally dis-assemble the thing!![]()
Hey All,

Hey Carverk,
"The leather holster I got for my Chiappa from Wanstall is very nice."
Yes ... I've seen pictures of it and it looks good. I didn't get one because I've already got a couple of items on the right-hand (strong side) of the Uncle Mike's gunbelt that I usually wear.
I liked the "gun bucket" idea because it provides a handy place (on the cross-draw side) to quickly stash the firearm when it's not in your hands ... as it probably should be (in my opinion, anyways) if you're carrying it for hunting or protection.
