Ive shot 50 rounds of american eagle in mine with no bulging no extraction problems but feeding problems tho... Maybe get the chamber measured? Try another ammo ? I shoot commercial reloads from a place here in BC, they are hot loads and have a hard bullet good for penetration ... As for the shooting high thats been mentioned on here that new sites are most likely a good bet... Mine shoots high as heck ...

Has anyone looked at adding a CAR stock to their existing stock. I would think all you have to do is drill and tap the existing metal butt plate and screw in the CAR stock. If you can get it short enough.

I had a hard time finding any mention of CAR stocks in this thread but was wondering what you guys thought.

See post 2187 to see the stock I mean. And I don't mean the way Cal mocked up the image but on the back to the original wood stock to get an extension.
If your ad in the EE is for an item that is sold, do us all a favour and mark the header PLS REMOVE.

That bulging brass sounds a little unnerving.

I fixed the "shooting high" issue (a problem with all Ranch Hands) with two new sights from Steve's Gunz ... a new (slightly higher) fiber-optic front sight, and a low rear flat-top sight. It's fine now.

Hi all. Didn't purchase my Rossi 44 mag. at Wanstalls but as this seems to be the best thread I have seen about it and I am thinking of buying the holster that they have I thought I would ask my questions here. Haven't seen much in the way of reviews on their holster IE: pros and/or cons. Looks good in the picture on the website but personal experience of users and/or seeing one is always best I find. I plan to use it for a backup when bowhunting, hiking and fishing. As you can't pack a handgun this seemed the better option than packing my rem. 12g or marlin 450. Took it out for the first time the other day and got a few surprises. Not having fired handgun cartridges before wasn't expecting that much oomph! Had to fire a few rounds before I realized it was shooting 6 in. high at 10 yds. Will have to read the whole thread and find out what the cure is as I would like poa and poi to be @ 25yds. If this is impracticable please feel free to educate me as at this point I am a novice. Also read there is information sheet that explains to police and range officers that the Mares Leg is not restricted. Would like to get a copy to carry with me for the inevitable stop that will happen. Mind you if you have it, probably never get stopped. Great site. Probably have more questions as I go along as I have only fired about 25 rounds. Thx papaken

It really does pack a wallop doesn't it? Steve's gunz is the site for your sites and action polishing. I seem to remember a information sheet from the CFO on this gun, but can't remember where. These mare's legs are getting very popular. My guess is you won't run into a problem.

yeah gonna try another ammo. hopefully it was just a few out of spec cases or hot factory loads. although that many from a box of 50 does seem unlikely.

    Hey papaken,

Nice to see you over here. If you flip a few pages back in this thread you'll find a guy who bought the holster...I'm so tempted but gotta relax with the spending on firearms-related gear. Seriously.

Check out Voodoo Tactical Holster, good for mounting to a backpack for fishing, etcetera.

I have printed the non-restricted details on the firearm...better to have it and not need it...

Go to page 251 #2507 to print out.

I think the holsters are nice for around $150, but may be uncomfortable while bending in the bush. Just take the scabbard and put it in the top zipper pocket of your backpack and zip up tight from both sides. To keep it from unzipping, just take a hiking shoelace and place through both zippers and knot it till secure. If you buy the scabbard you can remove it and use solo for fly fishing. I have a vest that has a ring on the chest and I attach 2' of nylon cord to the ring of RH. Helps to pull it out if you have trouble reaching back.

Thx Will print out a couple of copies and laminate one for the truck and one for the day pack. I have modified a large frame scoped pistol holster that should work for now but that one from Wanstalls sure looks nice. Can't quite tell from the photo but does it have a cut away in the front to accommodate the rear site and aid in easier drawing?

Not sure. Best to ask someone who has purchased, as I have the short shotgun scabbard that was $39.
