I have been considering getting mine nickel plated... Anybody know what that kind of thing costs?

I cannot do my own sandblasting, so that would have to be done as well...

Looking for a range buddy in Campbell River BC to go shooting with on the weekends!

Any shop that has a glass beading booth can prep the metal for plating. An automotive plating shop can do the nickel finish for you. The cost for plating should be well under 100.oo for sure.

Out shooting today with my club and had a chance to shoot my full stocked Ranch Hand at 50 yds. I put a Limbsaver Precision Fit Recoil Pad on it due to a separated shoulder muscle and while it helped a lot I could still only shoot one 6 round group. I had a couple of young fellows fire groups but they had never fired a 44 magnum before so their groups weren't stellar but still respectable. My group is the high one -2 3/4". Sitting on my butt, using my knees as a rest, not rapid fire but shooting quick.

The 3rd group was low and to the left of the paper. One fellow shot from the knees like I did and he had a 4 1/2" group. The other fellow shoot offhand standing and his group was about 12".

I'm running Steve's fiber optic front sight and peep rear site.
Anybody else got 50 or 100 yd. groups for comparison? I'm thinking I could cut that 2 3/4" down to under 2" once my shoulder heals.

    I wouldn't glass-bead any firearm...

Aluminum Oxide or Garnet will leave the best profile for firearms refinishing...

    100-120psi Alum / 80-100psi Garnet

Tried to install new sights tonight...what a disaster. I've managed to re index the barrel, sights used to be both straight and at high noon...now they are at 11:59. I managed to rotate the barrel in the receiver and to add insult, I couldn't get the new rear sight in anyway(old rear sight just came right out). Couldn't get the front sight out at all. I guess I'll have to take it to epps and hope for the best.

Did I mention as a result of rotating the barrel to bolt now binds on the ejector...used to run like butter.
Whatever doesn't kill you.....only shortens your life.
