Mark, LMT was apparently going to produce a barrel for the MWS in 6.5 Creedmoor, any idea on the timeline and availability?

I'm at LMT all this week and spoke to them today about the 6.5 barrels... they appear to be "available" for us to place orders now, though delivery is not too specific... my best guess is that we're looking at 8 to 12 weeks.

Should have them up on our website and available for custom order sometime next week when I get back. It would appear the other calibre options will also be up on our website next week as well... I'll have more info on delivery estimates at that time.

The 300 AAC BLACKOUT is undergoing final test firings (torture testing if you will)... they are about to do a high round test now (between 5,000 and 10,000 rounds). I have a feeling we'll see trickle deliveries over the next few months but honestly don't think they'll have volume shipments until end of this year or even after the next SHOT Show.

One new item not previously announced is a 7.62x39 barrel/bolt conversion for the MRP... We're placing an initial order for some of these... we may see them in the next few months or LMT may decide to officially release them at the SHOT Show. Hope to have pricing up on our website next week as well.

My 14.5" defender showed up a few days ago. Fantastic rifle!

The only issue was the rivet in the magazine was sticking out too far, which prevented the magazine from entering the magwell. A file and some JB weld fixed it though. Just a note to make sure that the magazines function in the rifle before sending them out.

Don't know if this belongs here but is it possible to buy a LMT MWS 308 complete upper or only complete rifles? I am specifically looking for a LMT MWS 308 upper with 20" stainless barrel.

That's a straight out error on our part. We check every magazines for fit and drop free... at least that's the procedure our guys in the back are supposed to follow... can't explain how yours slipped through but we will get to the bottom of it and make it good for you.

While at LMT this past week one topic we spoke about was the sale/availability of 308 parts and sub-assemblies.

Right now the factory is pumping out 308's as fast as they can. The MWS is in great demand right now, both commercial sales and military contracts which continue to grow and extend. As a result of this demand for complete rifles they simply don't have the supply of "upper halves that they can sell on their own... every upper they build gets turned into a complete rifle.

There is no issue getting any part we might need for warranty repairs, etc., however, LMT does not expect to be offering commercial sale of "uppers", etc. until they get caught up on rifle orders and get a stock pile of parts and assemblies that will allow them to comfortably sell those items on their own without affecting the supply of complete rifles.

My guess is we're looking at sometime next year... but rumours I've heard about some possible new contracts could extend that further.

The barrels and calibre conversions for both the MRP and MWS are becoming available now... saw literally thousands of barrels in various stages of production and you'll see us offering those very shortly and deliveries should ramp up over the next weeks/months.
