BerettaCX4 Long NR.jpg This is all I could find online. Where can I buy this in Ontario / Canada stock off the shelf like this or is it only available to buy R and then convert to NR ?
Depends on who you order the barrel from or what barrel they use to make it... I went with non cromelined not because of crossion but because it was considered a much better barrel blank you just got to pay more for it because of it. I went with a match barrel and it made a huge diffrence i found in accuracy.
Another question I have about this R to NR conversion is do they modify the mags to hold 5 rounds only since its a semi or does it still pass as handgun 9mm amo with the stock 9mm rounds in Canada?
There is no affect on magazines.

Magazine capacity is governed by the firearm model the magazine was designed for; these carbines are all using PISTOL magazines. The fact that the magazine is being used in a rifle has no effect on mag capacity therefore they are still legally able to hold 10 rounds (9mm & .40S&W) or 8 rounds (.45ACP) regardless of barrel length. Same reason you can use a 10 rnd LAR-15 Pistol mag in your AR15 rifle and still be legal.

No kidding... we get custom 14" shotguns from a couple makers. We get non-prohib'd handguns from several makers. Yet Beretta won't put out an 18.5" CX4!? Boggles the mind.
Restricted Laws Suck!
damn. wish I saw this post before I sold my cx4. Wouldn't have gotten rid of it if i could have gotten it non restricted
