    Don't reload at the moment. Too many guns to buy still before I sink a boat load into a nice reloading set-up! Within the next 2-3 years after I have my "gun base list" filled, I will buy everything I need to roll all of my own. I barely even get out to shoot now as that ammo money could go towards the next NEED on my list!

    If you are giving it away, I will gladly take it. I have all of the brass from the ammo that I have gone through so that I will be well stocked when that day does finally come.

    Cheers,

    Ian

    Just a quick follow up to find out if the .35 Remington Ammo came in; or if it is available?

    Have you called Goble's in London? They usually have a couple boxes. They actually have a decent ammo selection. Pricey, but decent selection!

    [QUOTE=Smitsauce;6838587]Ryan,

    Is there any way for you to get some .35 Remington ammo in even though you don't currently stock it? I just picked up a well used Remington Model 8 Peerless grade D in .35 Rem and could use a local source of ammo for her.

    lol i just received one of these model 8's as well as a model 7 would love to see some pics..

    Thanks. I can't wait to get it out and see how she does. The fancy grades D, E & F are quite rare. This one is from about July 1909 looking at the serial numbers and production totals and doing a bit of math. The production totals for the model 8 were just under 70,000 made and there is talk of only a few thousand made up in these grades. They were also available in 4 different calibers. .25, .30, .32, .35 Remington. That makes a D grade in .35 pretty damn rare and maybe into the hundreds of units ever built, at the very least 1-2 thousand tops!

    Oh and it is true that the internal components were hand pollished on the D, E & F grades! They shine like they are chrome plated compared to my regular model 8 from 1908.

    I may have it completely, professionally restored one day to bring it back to its original beauty.

    Once I get it all back together, I will have to do a posting in the sporting arms/antique arms section with good post clean-up pictures and a range report.

    Cheers,

    Ian
