How would this process affect the bore and barrel of a non-crome lined firearm? How would corrosive ammo affect it in a CZ 858? How much for it to be done to a NR CZ 858 with the factory paint still on it?

Rauch's nitrocarburizing process was supposed to protect the barrel for corrosive salts and even increase muzzle velocity. I am wondering if the Nitron finish does the same...? Also curious about pricing.

Just thinking out loud here, if one were to apply this treatment to a stainless revolver, should one expect to see it wearing off around the usual cylinder "drag line" area? (frequent metal-to metal contact) or should we expect some longevity even there?

It is very tough and durable, but the contact between moving metal will always wear down no matter what finish is applied. It is better for a finish to wear in for a proper break in and fit of a moving part.
