You're right, I'd like to get my own credit card soon. Hopefully my first purchase is also my last with someone else's credit card

Tell your Dad what you really, really had wished he had bought you for your (recent) birthday.

haha, he actually paid for my PAL course and PAL fee for my birthday. When Christmas came around all I wanted was a gun but I didn't have my PAL. He gave me some money to get one so I guess I'll just be handing the money back to him

go apply to the EE, find what you're looking for there and pay by EMT, or go to a local retailer, pick up and fondle your new boomstick and pay cash/debit.

But yeah, get your own cc, and be smart with it, all the time. It's a big temptation, especially with guns.

and welcome to the site, btw.

thanks! there's not too many shops near where I live, and I saw an ex-sniper Mosin on Trade Ex that I would love to get. It's a cool piece of history and it's inexpensive. It may be worth calling in to some stores to see if they have any Mosins though.

Don't jump in to anything, or be pressured into something you don't really want.

Like I said, very addictive hobby

Credit cards are only authorized for use by the person whose name is on the card.
Exactly , and we wouldnt want you to commit CC fraud by using an unauthorized CC.
Get your Dad to do the ordering of the firearm (payment portion that is)
I have yet to find a dealer that will accept EMT, but then again I have only asked three sponsors here if they would accept an EMT.
Most private sales though the EMT works fine,

This would be my vote, or a prepaid credit card. Credit is a slippery slope . Either way try to have all the money ready and waiting, don't plan to pay it next pay/end of the month, its an easy mistake that everyone makes.
Then again you should be responsible with credit, our government already thinks your responsible enough to own a firearm
