Yea, that's pretty disappointing. I wish I could take a few days off when there's work to be done in my shop... Ah well, I'll keep crossing my fingers and hopefully I'll have my carbine sooner rather than later. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

So, I heard a rumor that you guys may have gotten the uppers and lowers back from the anodizers yesterday?

You must have planted a bug here somewhere.
I got back from up north about 10 pm last night. The guys are assembling like crazy now.

Will there be enough to go around, or are they all spoken for via pre-orders ?

I'd also like more details on the fitment.

If I say, tried to snap the ArmaLite M-15 SPR Mod 1 Continuous Optics upper I want onto your lower, what will happen, how may it not fit ?

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with a "Pin Boss". I'm assuming it's the holes the pivot/takedown pins go thru'.

My plan, until I read this thread, was to use your awesome lower as the hart of a modular rifle system entailing many different uppers.
There are Anti's and there are Racist Anti's, the ones prejudice against "Black Rifles".

There are several lowers that are not spoken for at this moment, but once these get out into the general public I do not think we will have many for long. We will be making more in the near future though. Material should be here in the next few weeks.

As for fitment of others uppers, given that there is a generally very loose tolerances used by most manufacturers of ARs, the idea being "milspec" which essentially means anyone's parts will fit anyone elses and using the minimum quality spec put forth by the US military, ours may not fit your upper without some minor modification to the front and rear pin bosses (the part the take down pins go through on the upper to lock the upper and lower together), as we opted to hold with the smallest dimension of the specification. Basically 1 " MAY" need to remove a little material from both sides of the bosses of the upper to add dimensional tolerance so that the upper will fit into the lower.

IF you plan to use someone elses upper, it might be best to send it to us so we can fit the upper and lower for you to ensure everything mates up perfectly.

The reason we decided to go with matched upper/lower sets is to get away from the potential poor mate up of the frankenguns and to produce a product that was not only esthetically pleasing as all the lines will flow together and it will look far nicer than a frankengun could but also to have the best fit and finish on the market.
After the ton of pages of guys bitching about another manufacturers tool marks, poor fitment and mismatched color of ano we want to stay well away from that sort of nightmare as well as to offer some features not found on any other AR variant.

I hope that answers your questions and sets your mind at ease.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us, we would be happy to answer any you may have.

    That's good to know.

I've got a question - I've ordered a complete rifle from you, and in the future if I want to get you to build me another upper do I have to send down my lower to get it matched up? Or will the upper mate up to any of your lowers?

Any of the Gen 4 uppers we would prefer to fit to the individual lower just so as to avoid any potential problems. We call this added value customer service.
Theoretically all the Gen 4 upper should fit all Gen 4 lowers as the tolerances are held very tight.
