Yes they may not drop free on some models of firearms, you may want to check the checkering on the side of the mag to see if is going into the mag well causing the issue of not dropping free

Are you having the same issue with both magazines or is it just the one ??

Yep. I took mine down on a bench sander, got rid of all checkering. Also had to sand the rivet head just slightly (not too much though!)

Drops free on my Kriss now. Mine cycle fine, all 10 rds consistently.

First of all I would like to thank GP Tactical for their INCREDIBLE customer service.

As mentioned I had some issues with the first set of .45 KCI Magazines I purchased from them, they immediately sent me another two, without even requesting that I send in the faulty magazines. In addition when the replacements arrived, they sent a little gift, a nice pocket knife - so my hat goes off to you guys, top class!



Now the bad news.
The two replacements that were sent through are also jamming up, just as the first are. This time I simply hand loaded them and and extracted them with a thumb push, six times and five times I got a jam.



After some research I have found that some people spray their magazines with a dry-moly spray. However before I do this I'd like to hear from GP Tactical if they can recommend anything to solve this problem, or should I send all mags back for a refund?

GP Tactical - could you PM me back, or reply here, if you may have any idea how to solve the problem of the "log jams" - or if I should give up and send all 4 of the magazines back

If you would like to give that a try go ahead, no problem, if that does not help we will of course take them back

What I have been seeing is on some the mags the rivet was interfering with the spring and had to be filed down slightly, causing issues, that should not be the case with the last 2 I sent as I did the exact same thing if putting in 10 rounds thumbing out

Like I stated if you would like to to try the dry moly spray by all means give it a try, if at any point you would like to send them back just let me know

Well, I received mine today, and as I feared.........the exact same issue. something is definitely wrong with the springs.......they jam up all the way through the mag. Both are the exact same, with 3 different types of ammo.

Sent GP tactical an email with the pics below, as there is definitely an issue with the supply they are getting.

We seem to have an issue with a few of these magazines, we will be function testing all mags that we send out from this point forward, this only applies to the 45cal magazines

Re the problems with the KCI mags - have you heard back from KCI regarding a fix/replacement pieces/parts?

No we are sending some of the problem mags back to them for inspection and a solution, I don't suspect to hear back for 3-4 weeks
