"purchaser" can then "loan" the now unregistered gun back to the seller for the rest of his/her life.
Yeah, if this registry in Quebec sticks then I think my dad in Ontario may take all my guns... I have a feeling that he`ll end up lending me a bunch of them though.

You guys are forgetting one little thing. You were always required to have the gun registration with you whether you owned it or borrowed it. I doubt you will be able to walk around Quebec with any gun that you do not have a registration for in your pocket. You will lose the gun and probable be charged.
Those slime balls in Quebec are not that dumb.

Yeah, but one HUGE difference: the charge will be a provincial regulatory offence not a federal criminal charge. In other words, a conviction will have about the same moral implications as receiving a ticket for having an expired vehicle registration - no jail time, no criminal record, no fingerprint supported record at all, and nobody outside the province will give a ##### about it. A violation of a Quebec provincial firearms registry will not be a personal blot that can deny you the right to travel outside the country or ruin your employment prospects, maybe even deny you the right to enter certain professions, as a conviction relating to the late unlamented federal registry could.

So here's a noob question, as I have never sold any firearms, what happens now when you go to sell something out of the safe? I would imagine that the same procedure is still in place to verify the buyers PAL, and transfer the firearm? or no, no transfer just verification?

You don't need to verify the buyers PAL beyond inspecting it (picture matches person) and verifying it's not expired. Exchange money, exchange firearm. There is no longer a record of you owning that rifle. A 800 number is available to verify PAL's have not been revoked or suspended if you desire to check.

    Holy smokes screwtape.

You've been a member since 2004 and you just made your first post?

What did you do, take a vow never to post until the registry went down?

So would the local PDs get a similar bulletin that retailers got?
