Just curious about these wooden crates. I pry them open with the claw on a hammer, and I guess that works just fine. But I notice that there is a Popsicle stick stapled to one end of the crate. What the heck is that for? Is there some trick for opening these things that involves the Popsicle stick?

That is how CanAm inventories them from how they answered the question after all sorts of people (including myself) got crates with popsicle sticks stapled to them. I can assume perhaps if it has a stick stapled to it then it is sold and therefor out of inventory or something along those lines.
It is an inventory tag from the warehouse in china. If you look carefully you can see numbers stamped on them.
