(anyone have any good links on degreasing these guys?)

I just field stripped it and used simple green in a small paint tray and an old tooth brush to clean up the parts.
Greased it with lithium grease and put her back together.
I still have to clean up the mags though... I'll probably just wipe them down with a rag.

Put all the metal in a bucket, keep pouring paint thinner till all grease is gone, blast with air compressor (wear a mask/goggles).

I cleaned the oil off my last shotgun with a tub of hot water and dawn. I think I'll try that first, it worked great on the 870. Then oil and lube.
Need to get some good grease though...

This is probably a really stupid question, but I don't know these things. This lithium grease everyone keeps talking about, can you get it anywhere? Crappy tire? Or is it something you have to get at a specific store? Would it be found in the automotive section or tools or what?

Need to hit up crappy tire asap for this grease.

I did the same when I saw the ammo on the site last night... Plus I decided I may as well get an op rod spring guide and scope mount... And a red dot for the 10/22 nomad kit I bought this week.

If you bought the leapers mount it did not fit my Norinco that I bought 10 years ago. Hopefully your lucky and it will fit. I have a Springfield Armoury mount now and it fits like a glove.
