This is accurate. I have the 715T, which isnt a flat top, but all the same guts from mossberg pretty much.
The trigger, barrel and receiver (inside) is all steel.
The rest is all a plastic molding. Rails, sights, handles, stocks.

However, that said --- it's a 22 plinkster and why it makes that kind of price point. For what it's for - it's worth the money. Just dont go bringing it into a battle.

Keep it clean, it does fine. I shot a few hundred rounds of that filthy dirty Winchester bulk 22lr, and had one ftf where it pinched the round.
The manual recommends a cleaning every two hundred.

All in all, a fun gun, quite reliable for the cost and tons of fun to get people interested in shooting at the same time.

Thank you all for the honest answers. I will not get this as it will feel too much like a toy. Heck even my bb gun i used to have was 1:1 scale with an ar15 and was full metal. Plastic body i can tolerate, but the plastic railings are a turn off for me.

Yah the gun does feel cheap. But it is fun, simple as that. The full poly body does twist and creak. The picatinny rails are all plastic, mounted by screws (in plastic threads), on top of the plastic frame covering the barrel. Worse off is the fact that the rails are tilted off center and don't line up well with the barrel. You'll probably find that using the stock sights will require you to go to the far left or right just to zero it.

Now if you can sight in a scope you shouldn't have any problems hitting targets as the action is a 702 and on par with a 10/22, but you will have to take that scope off every time you clean it and possibly have to zero it again. Poor design choice. I threw about 500 rounds down range, from the fully loaded 25 round clips and did not have a single problem. The mags wiggle when inserted and it is annoying having to lock the bolt back before you change one out. It's what you get for the price I suppose.

So why buy it? It's novel I suppose. Holding a SR22 feels like a weapon, this feels like a toy. I'm happy I bought mine because it does shoot well, but I'm hoping there will be a full metal aftermarket clamshell to fit over the 702 to really justify the purchase. Then I can attach all those fun little tactical gizmos I own onto a more stable platform. Those of you with your restricted and a .22 with actual AR action need not apply. Those with a couple hundred more in your wallet, should probably just get the ruger if you can find one.

I love it, it does feel a bit cheap compared to an ar15 but it does what it should and looks pretty sweet. I just took mine to the range today, shot off about 300 rounds and not one misfire or jam. The mag is a bit of a pain to load as you have to push the rounds a bit to load more then 12. But shoots well after some adjustment and seems to love the federal rounds from crappy tire, but may give some CCI rounds a try.

Even had the girlfriend shooting it and she had a blast!

The SR-22 looks nothing at all like an AR-15. The Mossberg looks exactly like an AR-15.

The whole point is that people want a fun plinking gun that looks like an AR-15.
The Mossberg does a very good job of that. And at a very reasonable price.

So I had this little toy for a couple or 3 weeks now. After firing several types of ammo it seems to like the federal target loads the best. The magazine is a bit sloppy and tends to drop out if touched during firing, this then causes the gun to jam up , sometimes 2 un fired rounds get caught up. No matter what I do this gun needs to be cleaned freaquently more so than my other rimfires. The sites are fairly easy to get on target after playing around for a while. I decided to put a red dot on mine just a cheapy bushnell , this really improved the accuracy and the looks of the gun. I also find at about 11 rounds placed in the mag it gets a bit sticky really have to push to get them in the mag at that point , but after getting past that they seem to go in a little smoother. The mag is also very ( well ) cheaply made, my buddy had it drop out whils shooting and it bent where the it recieves the ammo.Easy fix . It also heats up fast after about 100 rounds needs to cool off to keep on target. so in IMHO for a cool little gun to play with and show others how to shoot , fits the bill just nicely. I would not take it hunting tends to stray a little to much, stick with my Henry Mag....

The only thing I can't get over with the sr22 is the thin tiny banana mags, they look rediculous
