I ended up wrapping some electrical tape around the bottom of the mag (before it expands out, but still inside of the plastic receiver). Electrical tape purely because it's black and can't be seen or noticed. This extra bit of thickness took the play out of the mag for a more snug fit. That seems to have fixed the mag issues I had for less than a penny.

As for the cleaning --- agreed 100%. But haven't had any issues outside of an ftf or two after a few hundred rounds without cleaning. At the cost of a 22lr - I'm not miffed about losing some rounds while plinking.

Still a fun little gun outside of a few minor annoyances. For the cost, I somewhat expect it honestly. It's no Weatherby.

could you replace the plastic rails with metal ones? the metal rails sell for pretty cheap and it seems like a good way to add some weight to the gun

Only the 2 rails on the side of the barrel are removable. Placing stiffer metal rails there would make your sling point, or flashlight a bit straighter =)

Aside from the collaspable buttstock lever, looks the same to me:

Cabelas.ca shows the same pic as the original post.

Gotta admit I don't get all the 'it feels cheap' talk.
It is what it is...a $300 gun that is 1/2 the price of any of it's competition, and which according to Gun Test magazine is more accurate than either the S&W or Umarex Colt.
