Hard call to make, because in the case of the X-Caliber I have not tried one. I really like the basic K100 MK6. If the X-Caliber wasn't coming to Canada, I would probably have upgraded to the new Mk7 frame only because I think the option of a slightly more filling grip might benefit me.

I am moving to the X-Caliber just because I want to take advantage of the longer barrel and sight radius. The lighter trigger is also a huge perk.

I always suggest when possible, try before you buy. If at all possible, compare similar models. When you look in the EE, you'll find a lot of "slightly used" guns that just didn't cut the mustard when the owners hit the range.

Well, I'm trying to set up my rig for next season in the production class. Such as gun / holster. I wanna find a gun that is very reliable like the Glock and easy to shoot. What kind of the holster do u recommend?
    - Bladetech Speed Rig Drop off
    - DAA Race Holster
    - DAA Race Master
    - CR Speed
    - Super Ghost
    Thx

I use the Ghost but the Bladetech DOH is also a good fit with most people.

The board has a lot of supporting dealers carrying holsters, etc.

I got my Ghost Holster from Double Tap Sports. My belt is a Shooters Gear. The owner of Shooters Gear is a member of my old club and one of his distributors is an old friend.

More like wanna limbo. The recoil is more a gentle shove straight back than a snap up and back.

Mine has been like a Timex watch. Almost boring, in that it just goes bang every time.

The closest thing to a malfunction I've had with the older MK6 guns was operator induced.

I forgot the lock on my holster, and when I pulled out the gun, I didn't realize I'd popped the trigger guard down.
The first round was fine, but the slide locked back. My Tap-Rack-Bang to clear the malfunction turned into
    Tap-Rack-Slingshot..................holycrapIjustcatapulted myfriggenslide!!!!!!!!!!!

On a positive note, I can tell you with full faith that the tenifer finish holds up well to abrasion. A 15 foot slide on bare concrete, and not a scratch.

Now to be fair, I know some of the STI guns had problems with hammers breaking.
Jaroslav mentioned early on in a discussion about manufacturing techniques that they machined the hammers instead of MIM because MIM'd hammers didn't have the lifespan he wanted. I wonder if the different hammer STI spec'd might have been a MIM part.
