    Rebarrel question

The question may not belong here if so I'm sorry. In one of your article you mention " you retained the barrel nut so you don't need a go gauge to head space your new barrel and that it is a more accurate way of doing it" my question is: could you explain what that method is, please?

I think you may be paraphrasing the full text.

All chambers are headspaced the same way regardless of the action. Using a Go/no go gauge is an established method of making the fit per SAAMI spec.

If the chamber is cut to a wildcat specs or a non SAAMI spec, there are other methods of ensuring install still fits and functions properly. BUT the tolerance between a custom Go and NO GO gauge would remain the same.

Using a barrel nut or shoulder to locate a barrel will not change the procedure.

I hope this clears up your question.

I just read it to many time and it could be very close to the full text . Could you just explain this: Using a barrel nut or shoulder to locate a barrel will not change the procedure.
Does it mean you still use a go gauge ? if not could you explain the barrel nut or shoulder methods or refer me to an article that explain it a bit.
    Thank you

First read and learn exactly what headspace means.

All you are doing is indexing the chamber to the action and either using the nut or barrel shoulder to get this distance correct.
