Hatsan Optima/Escort MPA Semi 12ga

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I had a question about this firearm. I picked one of these up a few weeks ago and have brought it to the range twice. Both times it would not cycle/eject. Am I doing something wrong or is it just because it's new and needs the spring to be worked in? Very new to shotguns and fairly new to shooting, any help would be great. Ryan, I'm in the market for a 10/22 takedown or possibly a stainless synthetic model, if you ever get any in : )

RE cycling: When I got mine I took it all apart and cleaned all the factory grease out, it was super sticky. One of the other local guys had cycling issues as well. Make sure that when you assemble the piston that the O-ring goes on last to seal the gas block to the piston. You also need to make sure the forearm is aligned correctly, the bolt should cycle easily when pulled back. If not then the forearm closest to the action is not in its groove.

I used G96.

Mine will cycle the light Federal target loads, 2 3/4 dram equivilant easily.

Good luck and I am sure a quick clean up will solve your issues.

Yes, I just found them again. I'm hoping to get them on in the next day or two. I'm just working on putting a large order into inventory at the moment.

Did you guys shot some 12 gauge slugs with your MPA? Im fairly new to shotgun too and on the SFRC website they are claiming that the shotgun comes with a fixed cylinder choke?

Where can i buy another barrel that will fit my MPA without a choke?

I've shot at least 10 boxes of slugs through mine. One big dirty hole at 50 yards.

I'm not a shotgun guy at all but I thought cylinder choke meant no choke. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
