SKS and case of non corrosive... excellent buy.

I got my SKS and case of 1200 norinco non corrosive 7.62X39 yesterday. For starters, the SKS was one of the nicest ive seen so far. Not jammed full of cosmo, stock was really nice and solid with only a few very minor dings on one side. If I hadnt already sold it to a buddy, I would have kept it.

The ammo is just sweet. Packed in a wooden crate (you have to pry the lid off, its nailed down) then in a large plastic bag, then in boxes of 20 round foam holders (like new ammo).

The ammo itself is pretty ugly. Brown cases... but they are nice and clean and dont have that "sitting in a communist bunker for 60 years smell" that my other surplus stuff has. I havent had the chance to fire any yet but definitely will very soon and ill report how it works in my VZ.

Unfortunately I had to split the ammo with another buddy who paid for half... that hurt a bit. Overall, excellent buying experience from Canadaammo and ill be buying more of this stuff in the future.

    I'll add to this..

Cleaned up my Norinco SKS that I bought from Canadaammo as well, and fired all but 260 rounds from it on Monday. And Not easy firing.. Putting the gun through it's test!
Had it smoking a few times throughout the day.. (Probably not the brightest idea, But we were just having a blast with it.)

But needless to say, Brought it home and cleaned it up. Still looks and performs like new.

You've got to clean the cosmoline really good or it will start smoking and oozing grease when it gets heated up. i completely remove the barrel and all parts to do this.

    Buy more ammo. Its addictive.

Barrel and receiver unbolts from the stock. Remove it so you can clean out the grease.

The whole thing, barrel and receiver comes out of the wooden stock. Do a search on youtube for SKS stripping or dis-assembly there's quite a few break down videos.

I've gone thru about 300 rds of this stuff from canada ammo, haven't cleaned the old norino yet, and it's great.
Excellent price too. No worries about this stuff...

I cleaned the cosmoline out with brake cleaner on the large parts and I boiled everything that would fit in a large pot for 15min. Worked very well! Then I WD40 the $hit out off all the parts and wiped dry.
