.223 AE "Tactical" vs .223 AE

Both are 55gr. The AE Tactical is 379,95$ and the AE is 349,95 (Both for 1000 rounds)

Does the AE "Tactical" as any advantage other than it come in black box and have "Tactical"
    written on the box?

    More velocity? Mil-Spec?

That ammo is only available to Operators operating in an operational environment I'm afraid. Enhances mission effectiveness through proprietary tactical packaging and enhanced target down-rangeness made to SOF mil-spec delta seal team 6 standards of bulletyness.

:P I'm not sure. I've handled individual boxes but wasn't looking at the time. For $30 its probably the marketing gimmick.

Same ammo, $349 is the bulk pack ammo so it is one big bag of 1000 rounds. The other that is $379 is in 50 boxes of 20 rds per box.

From what I understand, the "Tactical" uses harder primers, and is more suited for use in AR style rifles. I don't know why that would be, and I forget where I read that. I figure it's a gimmick.

I've almost worked my way through half a case of the tactical stuff now. Its nothing fancy.

I have always liked the red boxed AE 55gr ammo. If that is cheaper, grab it!

I believe that some of the 1000 round deals on the tactical ammo includes an ammo can so maybe that adds some cost?

Also, there are 100 round boxes of the tactical stuff out there that were a smoking deal when I grabbed a few.

I have gone through a few (20 rd) boxes of both of them in my new savage .223... to me they are the exact same. both identical in case markings and appearance. both same POI.

and at my local WSS they are same price ($8.00 / 20 rd box)
though, like cavs42 says, right on the box it is marked as being the "harder" mil spec primers, and they are supposed to be optimized for use in AR type fire arms.

flawless function in my axis tho.
