This is the 6.5" barrel version of the famous Model 29 .44 Magnum N-Frame wheelgun Smith and Wesson rose to new heights of fame with following Dirty Harry's well-known speech about the most powerful handgun in the world. Of course, in the movie, the real prop gun was a Model 57 in .41 Magnum, because a Model 29 was impossible to get in time for filming due to long waits for the low production magnum revolver at the time... and some things don't change! Smith and Wesson still doesn't make nearly enough of these beautiful blued revolvers to satisfy demand and they may never manage to! I know we've been waiting for awhile to see these come in!

The Model 29 comes with beautiful walnut target grips and adjustable target sights, and really embodies the legacy of Smith and Wesson. The N-Frame is one of the oldest remaining sizes of Smith and Wesson today, thanks to its capacity for magnum calibers and its gorgeous lines.

I have one of these brand new in the door to go to a good home!

    Cheers,
    Dan

    How much was it?

    Thanks!

Pinned barrels and recessed cylinders were extinct by 1982. I would assume new production model 29's would not have them. I believe new models also have integral lock as well.

A 29-2 or 629 no dash would be sweet indeed. Don't care about pinned barrels, Luv the recessed cylinder with the flush look.
    Caveat Emptor.
    Common Sense is NOT common.
Is that 20 years of experience or 3 years of experience repeated 6.66 times?

I am the happy owner of a 6.5inch barrel model 29-2 with an "S" serial number. The bluing is absolutely gorgeous.

Should be getting mine next week...purely going to be a shooter for me.

Going to pick up some brass and projectiles this weekend! A 29-2 would definitely be so sweet for historical significance/bragging rights for sure!!

I've watched the following video like a bazillion times already (model 29-10) and I am salivating at the mouth...
