I don't think wood polish would take off any stains on your rifle. Are you sure it is not time that took it off or reaction with cosmo

It has definitely been wiped over with lacquer thinner or acetone just where the Serial number is on the stock as the finish is much lighter and looks whipped off. I'm a cabinet maker and stain doors and panels all the time so I know what I am talking about. But its still a gorgeous Izhevsk and I think Westrifle for getting them!!!!

ha! Im a cabinetmaker too! thats hilarious. we gotta be talkin bout diff things on the stock. mine even has an indentation in the profile from wood removal and stamp is faint. I wondered about a goof when they first stamped and then sanded it off.

I got a nice Izzy from Al a few days ago. Let me tell you, he was very accommodating, despite my inane questions, and requests.
I am what you would call, 'one of those' customers.
Despite it being a one rifle purchase, Al went beyond the call of duty with his time, and patience.
Great customer service, and I got one hell of a nice SKS.
I actually never thought I would get one. I thought they were crude, and beneath my collection.
The Izhevsk versions are very nice, to my surprise.
