Ammo famine coming like the old days?

I heard the same rumor. With the massive order of .45 and .223 by the US government, supplies will be scarce in 2013. I also heard there are new restrictions coming regarding the export of US made ammunition... meaning less will be imported into Canada. This was all hearsay, so take it with a grain of salt... could have just been the guy at the counter trying to get me to buy more rounds...

Who in the US gov is ordering massive amounts of .45? Government 5.56 consumption should be significantly lower than last year or the year before considering the defense budget and the reduction of troops overseas and training for deployment.

it wasn't the military...it was the government...big difference, the DHS ordered the .223 among others ...over a billion rounds all together...not the military..the government and we should all ask ourselves why?

In all seriousness I wonder if it has to do with replacing old ammo stock that has " expired " as far as they are concerned. Kinda like how the stock pile tires and sell them as surplus after 3 years before they reach the 5 year manufacture expiry date.

That is probably why Norinco is low on supplies as well. The US gov is buying Norinco.....lol
