    Grand power k22

I was curious if the slide of this 22lr pistol has the same weight and balance as of the Grand Power 9mm?

I have heard that a good 22lr training pistol should be identical in weight and feel to the bigger caliber pistol it is based on.

    Thanks.

The factory catalog says the K22 X-trim is 760g unloaded vs 820g for the unloaded Mk7 Target.

The frame is the same, but the .22lr barrel and slide must weight 2 ounces less.

    Interesting. From their website:

K100 TARGET : Weight with empty magazine 820g
    K22 S : Weight with empty magazine 630g
    K22 X-TRIM : Weight with empty magazine 740g

when fully loaded the difference will be even bigger. I always thought that the whole idea is that 22lr training pistol should be as close as possible to its larger caliber brother. CZ kadet is this way, it is actually slightly heavier to compensate for light 22lr, but the price is rediculous 900 dollars, which is more expensive than its 9mm brother, needless to say i did not buy it, because the idea was to save some money by going to 22lr round.

I will be buying one when they get here. My impression is that the K22 is more likely to be CZ Kadet quality and feel than S&W M&P 22. We shall see.

initially i was set on k22 standard but now i am wondering if i should go with x-trim if it will be closer in feel to Mk7, it should be still a lot less expensive than kadet in any case.

But i can say that i am surprised that GP does not advertise any of their 22lr caliber pistols as being a training replacement for Mk7.

Agreed. My guess is that as they pull thier US based division up by the bootstraps, we'll see better English language advertising. They seem to produce some great product brochures and the website is nice. In this market we seem to expect the manufacturer not only to show us the product, but describe how we will use it, love it, hug it, squeeze it, call it George.....

but i was actually implying that GP probaly doesn't have such a model hence the lack of such advertisement. Or do they?
Dont you think they would make sure to call sport shooting community's attention to such a model?

Well it must have been a whole month since I lobbed a flash bang into the tree house.

Here's a sneak peak at the MK12 version of the K22S.

To keep the all steel slide but run with standard velocity ammo, the milling machine gets a workout.

Looks pretty slick. It'd look even better if it were already on the Blueline store page!
