Question about order status?

I placed an order on the 27th and when I check it on the web site it says this,
New Order - Received and not yet processed

Is this the standard until it gets approved by the CFO for transfer? And if so, will my items be held for me until then or is there risk they may sell out of the items I have on order?

it will be updated with "at CFO" and the ref # once it goes to the cfo
