M305 Arrived, great shape, minor issue

I am in the middle of a situation like this one mentioned. There is a certian gun dealer in BC that is demanding that in order for them to honor what is an obvious waranty claim on a Poly M305 that was purchased last June with a 1 year "local warranty" (a mis-aligned and in-properly bored gas cylinder which may be because they screwed up the flash supressors guid marks?) due to us not being able to produce the recipt!? They have had a piss poor attitude on the phone during every conversation but even though We have the cc statement and even the serial # and date of which they have to record on their end so that they have record of the sale anyway, but they are claiming 'no recipt (misplaced during a recient move to a new house), no warrenty". I have been told that they will address our repair in the new year (they have had the gun for 5 weeks now), If i dont get some proper customer service with this one, you can be assured I will be letting everyone know who this is and that they see as little future business from CGN users as possible.

Why buy a not so well built M-305..,for a third of the price of an M1A I'll take my chances. As far as standing behind their product people just need to insist on the retailer following the law of the land. I would guess that all provinces have similar laws. In Ontario if you sell me something it has to work as intended or we understood it was as is. If it doesn't work as intended you should insist on an exchange for another or your money back. Store policies mean nothing if they are contrary to the law. That said I haven't heard of any retailer refusing to act within the law when push comes to shove re M-305's.

As far as the mag goes, one of the my mags is a bit fatter than the rest. I have one that needs to be pushed out from the top half the time. It use to need to be pushed all the time but I gave it a slight squeeze in the vice and it's better now. If your going to give that a try I'd be careful. It's not as simple as squashing it to what you think it needs as it will rebound to pretty much it's original shape after you release it from the vice. I just gave it a little squeeze, tried it and then a little more till it was better. I didn't get it to the ease of operation of my other two mags but it is better. I was nervous I'd cross some threshold and the mag would squash too far to feed properly.

I also have an issue with mags on my m305 except in my case the bolt has to be in the forward position to lock a magazine in place correctly. If I try to insert a magazine with the bolt in the open and locked position the mag won't 'click' into place and will fall out of the well after one shot.

Anyone else with this problem?

Happend to me once make sure you cam it in and tap on the bottom to make sure it clicks in what happend was it was sort of half in then when the bolt came foward it pushed it out as it wasn't locked in. Was funny to see the mag fall out when the bolt went foward got a laugh out of it.


When I got mine shorty I did the following

I took it apart and cleaned it very well it there was allot of oil. I then used grease not oil to lubercate all the parts. I made sure the gas system was setup right by just shining light through it and looking down the barrel. I then put it back togther and made sure all the parts went togther correctly and snuged up the rear sight (the screw came out) it was a very simple fix I just loosened the screw holding it in then put it back in then tightened the screw holding it in back down and it worked just fine it was a minor flaw someone just didnt screw it in right from the factory. I then took it to the range loaded it up and shot it it wouldn't cycle turns out the gas system was turned off so I adjusted if the ammo I was useing buy opening then then shooting the bolt didn't cycle fully so I turned it some more till it would work just fine and not slam back to hard. 500 rounds latter I took it apart and cleaned it changed the guide rod to a round one now it cycles allot smoother I didn't even change the spring. Works just fine and I use my AIA 10 round magazines in it lot more fun doing 10 instead of 5 rounds.

I had problems with both the 5 round mags that I received with my Norc 2007. While I liked the low profile of the 5 rounders while hunting, were they ever a biatch to get out.
Wouldn't have been too bad I guess had I not scoped the beast, I could have just used stripper clips and leave the mag on a la Lee Enfield. Long story short, I basically broke them in by inserting and removing them a bunch and by gently "massaging" them with some emery paper. Now they are ok. As has been previously mentioned, I also recommend an extended mag release.

The 5 round mags are a pain as they fit flush. I took a 1" plastic electrical cable tie down and put a rivet through the hole and into the existing hole in the bottom of the mag.
Looks like this and works perfect. You would have to drill out the rivet to get the mag apart.

Is this rifle from the new batch that is due to arive any time ??? Or just one that was still around from a previous ... I only ask BC I am waiting for mine to come in stock at north silva so they can send it to the retailer that I orderd from ?

I got a m305 from CANADAAMMO and the safety will not engage! I emailed them to see if they would replace or exchange my rifle but I haven't heard a word from them! I guess they don't like repeat customers!!
