Some of the more pricy rifles are not even NATO certified and are not built by factories with ISO certification.

The contradiction is deafening. If you want to buy a cheap AR, buy a cheap AR and there is plenty abound. If people want to buy a semi automatic version of a C8 , that is NATO certified, pony up and get the Colt Canada. There will always be people who buy the lowest price, and people who don't care about buying the cheapest. There will always be people who will pay more to be the first in line guinea pigs advertised as the newest improvement, and there are always people who only buy certified and field tested weapons from real arms factories.
Exactly! People fork down the money for a Tavor or XCR...

If I had the money I would buy a C8/7 regardless but these came out at a bad time for me when I have so many other projects going right now. All wait out for the C8IUR unless my lotto comes in.

Because it is non-restricted and most people I know have a bunch of AR's and bought everything already, plus as word gets out in a few years sales will go up dramatically I bet you. Everyone I know says they want one but they own 2 NEA, 1 Bushmaster and a Colt, so it is insane to get another AR, plus considering how the market has inflated and deflated on AR pricing these days, and the abundance of manufactures out there. CC should have came out a decade ago, but sales will go up when the next wave of shooters comes out to buy an AR.

Yeah... Forgot about the NR status advantage. I wanted a CC but I bought two Vz58s instead. It's the laws that are preventing CC sales from taking off.

The other thing is people wanted:

    1. A quad or Keymod rail, even though they have don't utilize them.
    2. FA BCG, that is just #######
3.Korth doesn't seem to have marketed them right, would have been better if Colt just did it them selves.

That being said I'm happy they are here and in time word will get out and people will buy more from them.

    Like $300 over IOP price...

Some of the more pricy rifles are not even NATO certified and are not built by factories with ISO certification. I don't see no one ever complaint about paying 3400 for a Swiss Arms, 2500 for Tavor and over 2000 dollars for a HK SL8, but they have a lot of issues with paying less money for a C7 or C8 semi. Even the budget military rifle ARX100 is sold for over 2000 CDN out in the street down in the US.

The contradiction is deafening. If you want to buy a cheap recreational AR, buy a cheap recreational AR and there is plenty abound. If people want to buy a semi automatic version of a C8 , that is NATO certified weapon, pony up and get the Colt Canada. The Swiss Arms and Tavor are made by one company so there is no competition......

With the CC there is substantial competition. You can get a SR15 with many upgrades including ambi lower, match trigger, FF rail, PRI CH, upgraded bolt, sopmod stock, and a hard case for a slightly higher cost. A 6920 around 1k. It was a tough time to introduce these.

For me it comes down to value. I don't mind paying for quality though. I don't own Nork/NEA etc. Also consider these Knights rifle had to be imported as well. CC is made in Canada.
You pay to play. Also one key feature is the NR status.

Should these be as cheap as a Norc - hell no. The C7/C8 is a quality rifle but ....... a basic rifle by today's standards.

Will they sell lots of the IUR model, don't think so due to the cost.
That is if you look how poorly the LE have done sales wise and their price point will be much lower.

I honestly will be surprised if Colt Canada continues with Civ sales. I saw the LE models as a trial run that somewhat missed it's mark.
The LE sales are not surpising since the RCMP bought their C8's for about $4900 (w/o the Aimpoint) per rifle. Also, if the grapevine is correct, CC cannot fullfill the contract to RCMP because of their (CC) previous millitary contracts. The municpal forces are allegedly relcutant because of the above.

I was talking about the limited edition rifles not the law enforcement rifles.
Also that number seems really high. I have heard numbers much lower.
