Thanks, that makes a big difference to know.

The WD-40 specialist 'long term corrosion inhibitor' did amazingly well on both boards as well.

It's strange, I don't see this product at Can Tire or any other usual places either. Only this website http://www.traverscanada.com/wd-40-l.../p/81-006-209/

Yeah, even princess auto carries almost the whole WD-40 specialist line, but not the LTCI. I picked up a bunch of 8oz spray bottles of Froglube in Edmonton, so I'm happy.

Really hoping that there ends up being a variety of commonly available products that work with realistic real world results that could be reasonably expected by anyone without access to a full on laboratory.
What has surprised me so far is how poorly some of the highly touted have performed. But that's the point of this whole quasi-controlled testing.
The downside of learning stuff is that it makes me realize how much I don't know.

Eezox, Fluid Film, & Frog Lube CLP grease dropped off.
Sometimes it is taken, sometimes it is not. But there is no bargain, for here, what is,
    is what must be

Might be a longshot but do you have any seal 1 clp plus?

Supposed to be similar to frog lube but "new and improved". If I were closer I'd definitely donate some to see how it holds up.

Last year I discovered the shooters forum tests thanks to BCsteve on these forums.

Since seeing the results of the extensive shooters forum tests I have switched to hornady 1 shot. Frog lube does great in a lot of tests but I like that 1 shot is aerosol and easy to apply. The type of wd 40 listed in their tests seems impossible to find and I have searched in the States and Canada for it.

So far the Hornady 1 shot has given me no reason to complain or switch to another product. 1 shot is not corrosive to my synthetic stocks and has worked better then expected to date. I get CLP and other products free at work but the 1 shot has proven to be super user friendly and weather resistant. Spending the bit of $ for the Hornaday 1 shot is worth it in my opinion and a can lasts a long time

I have some Seal1 CLP here as well. Time permitting, I will try and get some down to Kate at Ammo Supply next week. Man, I think I've tried just about every "snake oil" on the market at one time or another...

Awesome thanks!! Will be interesting to see how it compares to frog lube since they are supposed to be very similar.

You need to read the whole thread (aka every pages) The first page is the tip of the iceberg
