Policy for Business or Profit Seeking Activities at www.Canadiangunnutz.com

  1. Business or Profit Seeking activities of the nature with the intention of generating/seeking profit fall under the "Policy for Business or Profit Seeking Activities". Business or Profit Seeking activities are not permitted at www.Canadiangunnutz.com, except for members holding current "Business Membership". Profit generating ventures include but not limited to dealers, websites, service providers, manufacturers, high volume sellers/traders, auctions and private collections inherited from business inventory, etc. To obtain information on "Dealer Membership", please send private message (PM) to "CGN Admin". Please note that it is CGN policy, based on our strong belief against on-line auction, we will not accept any websites with auction elements.

  2. CGN Policy on discussion of homemade firearm

  1. CFC is allowing registration of homemade firearms. Although it does not necessarily translate to legality, but such transactions appear to be COMMON and performed as a ROUTINE. In the absence of other ACTUAL and FACTUAL contradictory actions by other agencies, it can be REASONABLY accepted that at least part of the governent accept these homemade firearms built by individuals. Since CFC, in this case, is the immediate agency dealing with public firearms registration, we will accept its action as our guidance.

  2. Therefore, as long as the firearm being discussed is not prohibited and the acquistion of parts complies to US and Canada export and import regulations, they will be allowed.

  3. Intentional circumvention of the OIC prohibiting orders will be forbidden as it constitutes falsification of verification and registration documents. For example, advocation of using an AK receiver to build a Valmet M78 will not be allowed as its registration requires falsifiing the required document. A Valment M78 is a finnish made SAW based on the RPK design with certain proprietary features. What makes it a Valment is the fact that it is made in Finnland by Valmet.The fact that it is made in Soumi cannot be replicated. The same rationale will be applied to any future disucssion. Any decision by admin and mod will be final on such issues.

  4. At the Exchange forum, sales of homemade weapon will be forbidden. Applying general so called "smell test", such offer or solicitation of purchase, risks the appearance of an "illegal weapon" hook up market. This same rationale was applied in the "mag kit" ban.

  5. based on the same rationale, no individual in the equipment exchange forum, except for dealers in the Dealers Forum, can offer or solicite the purchase of, any incomplete receivers, including the so called "80% completed receivers". This is consistent with the "mag kit" ban which exempts dealers from the prohibitiion.

Manner and Etiquette in the Business Member Forums

The business forums are the private forums of the paid business members. When you enter into their forums, you should see yourself as entering into their virtual store fronts. Therefore, it is a reasonable to behave in the same manner and observe the same etiquette as if you are meeting the store staff and owners in person. If you are rude or attempt to disrupt their business in their own forums or storefronts, they have the right to remove your postings and presence, and ask you not to post in their forums(or enter their storefronts) again. If you don’t cease and desist after you have been asked to stop by the store owner, that will be consider as harassment. If you do not agree with their prices, move along. The business forum is NOT the place you will use the prices of other businesses to attempt to obtain price match, or to advertise prices and availability of businesses other than the owner of that particular business forum.

Furthermore, if you have an issue with a business member, it is a common practice to make an attempt to resolve the issue with the business member privately. ( A reasonable person will not enter a store and scream at the top of him lung to gather everyone's attention and make a scene, will he?) If you have not been able to resolve this issue and made a posting in the forum, the issue could only be posted once. If a member has a particular issue with a business member and the issue is being purposely and repeatedly posted in the business member's forum, the business member can ask you to stop. If it continues, it will be treated as harassment and the moderator may step in and apply forum rules.

This policy is part of the forum rules. All forum rules will be enforced.

How to Gain Access to the Equipment Exchange Forums (Rules & Guidelines)

Welcome to CGN forum. First of all, no one likes to read long instructions, but there is no way we can keep this short. The CGN equipment exchange forums are a community based buy / sell system. We welcome members who are committed to observe the community standard and are interested in trading with fellow members in a system based on honesty and mutual respect. After 10 years of operation and probably millions of items listed, we have worked out these rules and they are proven to work! Please invest 5 minutes on understanding these rules and code of conducts, and you will find the join request instructions by the time you finish this quick reading.

The Equipment Exchange (“EE”) forums are "use at your own risk" classifieds". CGN is not responsible for any losses and disputes related to transactions that are associated with these classifieds.

It is the responsibility of both buyers and sellers to ensure firearm exchanges are made in a legal manner, and that they are authorized to possess and transfer the firearms. Ads posted to Canadiangunnutuz forum are not endorsement by forum management and moderators. If you are not sure, it is your responsibility to consult your own legal counsel and other resources such as Canada Firearms Center to come to your own conclusion.

The EE forums are intended for the listing of personal items that are non profit seeking - profit seeking activities are only allowed for paid business members [ie. Dealers]; Linkings in any forms to other firearms sites, such as on-line classified and on-line auction sites, are not permitted.

Trade related disputes originating from the Equipment Exchange forums or with CGN business members [ie. Dealers] shall not be discussed in the forums. All disputes and feedbacks should be confined to the trader rating feedback system and private messaging. See FAQ “Guidelines for using CGN feedback system”

For example, you may want to consider asking the seller to post a picture of the item with the person’s account name and date, along with an item ( such as putting a pen next to the item) specific to your request.

2) WTB ad is high risk. You should always ask for picture per 1). Beware of solicited response to WTB request - scammers always take advantage of buyer's urgency and desire. Do not let your guard down because you want something very badly;

3) It is your legal responsibility to obtain the name, PAL number, PAL expiration date and phone number of the other party and verify these information with the RCMP at 1-800-731-4000 before money and item change hands.

4) Always make it clear when money and goods will be delivered in a deal, in no uncertain term. Unless there is an agreed timing and condition concerning when and how money and goods will be delivered by both parties, there is NO deal;¬

5) Always consult the Feedback Score ( formerly trade rating) and history of the person that you are dealing with; Read the details and comments in the trader rating feedback, consider there are always two sides to a story. You can review the Feedback score of the other party by clicking his/her username in left column above his avatar (picture). Select " View Profile " and then the tab "Feedback Score";

6) The attitude and the manner people communicate could be an indicator of his character - will you deal with a real person who communicates the way he/she does in real life? Do a search in the forums to see how this person behaves. Don't be afraid to call the other party on a phone number that you have verified with the CFC;

7) If the deal is too good to be true, there is a always a possibility it could not be true;

8) Walk away if you don't feel right - Do not rush to making the offer or taking the offer;

9) Beware of solicited response to WTB request - scammer always take advantage of buyer's urgency and desire. Do not let your guard down because you want something very badly;

10) Do not answer to any solicitations or offers made outside of the Equipment Exchange forums. You must ask yourself why this person is trying to avoid the rules of the Equipment Exchanges forums;

How to Gain Access to the Off-Topic Forum (Rules & Guidelines)

First, Read the Following Rules and Guidelines

  1. All General Forum Rules apply in Off Topic, this includes swearing, and flaming etc.

  2. Posts are to be in good taste. While we are adults here for the most part we come from various backgrounds and belief systems.

  3. Pornography in any way shape or form is not allowed, this includes linking to other web pages.

  4. Discussion of Nazi's, Hitler or racist topics is only allowed if done so in a historical sense or current news/media issues. Any posts that any moderator feels is promoting hatred against any race will immediately be deleted. If a pattern is detected or the post is so distinctly offensive, at the moderators discretion the poster will be banned without warning.

  5. Religious, sexual orientation topics are to be avoided. In the past it has been demonstrated that our members are not able to keep these discussion civil, as a result we would prefer to not see any topics on this subject. However we understand that some current affairs issues are going to crop up from time to time. These can be discussed so long as the discussion stays respectful to all those involved. At the first sign of flaming or expression of hatred the topic will be deleted and offending posters warned. As with the racism topic, if the post is distinctly offensive the poster responsible will be banned without warning.

  6. Obviously there is to be no discussion of illegal activities in Off Topic

  7. Cop/Soldier bashing threads are not allowed. If you are commenting on a story from the news, or on an incident that you've witnessed or been a participant in, keep it civil. Not all LEO/Soldiers are the same as the one/s you encountered. Any attempt to generalize the professions in relation to the original post will result in the post being deleted. As noted above, distinctly offensive posts will result in the banning of the poster with no warning.

Further, there need not be any warning given for a post to be deleted, this is at the moderators discretion.

Distinctly Offensive - a post that is judged to be D.O. will have been voted on by members of the moderator panel and the admin. They will not be decided by one moderator, unless no one else is available to help vote on the issue. An example of a D.O. post would be one condoning violence against any identifiable group or race, be it LEO's, homosexuals, Muslims etc.

Tinfoil hat threads - If you persist on using Off Topic as your own soap box to spread your tinfoil hat agenda, you will lose your privilege to view and post.

Before application, your account must be acitve for at least 90 days since registration. Your application will be denied and no notification will be sent if this requirement has not been met

      Due to the system change in how we assign infraction point on June 15th, 2009, we will be implementing the following transition policy for infraction given earlier:
      1. all infraction points before June 15th, 2009 is counted as the 1st strike.
      2. The first infraction received after Jun 14th, 2009, will be considered the 2nd strike unless the member has no prior infraction before Jun 15th, 2009.

      Infraction Strike Forgiveness:
      1. If the last infraction is a 1st strike, the next infraction will be counted as a 1st strike if there has been at least 1 year since the last 1st strike infraction was issued.
      2. If the last infraction is a 2rd strike, the next infraction will be counted as a 1st strike if there has been at least 2 years since the last 2nd strike infraction was issued.
      3. If the last infraction is a 3rd strike, the next infraction will be counted as a 1st strike if there has been at least 3 years since the last 3rd strike infraction was issued.

      Infraction Review Process:
      1. The moderator who issues the warning/infraction is the first and only contact when the member has question about the infraction. The moderator should provide at least 1 response to the member.
      2. If the infraction is NOT a: 3rd strike, 4th strike, or after 4th Strike: After the first response is given, the moderator can explicitly decline to discuss the issue any further. No more messages on this particular infraction should be sent to the moderators.
      3.
