Seeing they are half the price of Redding I wonder if anyone is carrying them in Canada? Didn't have much luck with GOOGLE Anybody using them?

Are these the same as their 7.5 swiss dies? If so, i have a set of them, and they work well (like all the hornady dies i've used for that matter)

NM just checked the hornady web site, i had no idea they had K31 specific dies, not sure why, as the 7.5 swiss set i have seems to work just fine.....i'll have to e mail them and find out what the difference is. I'll post back here when i hear back.

I have only used one set of Hornady dies, but they weren't that great for me. The Reddings are worth twice the price, IMO. I try to not buy anything other than Reddings anymore for bottleneck rifle cartridges. Buy once, cry once.

Would the 2 die set be sufficient from Redding for the k31? I have several Hornady dies and a couple earlier Pacifics all are good dies...........Harold

Got a set of the Hornady custom grade New dimension dies. The decapping, expander rod is held in by collet set up. Might be good enough for basic work, but the rod tends to slip when I'm case forming. Gather that is a common complaint. Bought them cause they were cheap, should have bought the RCBS. ;)

Using the Hornady 7.5 swiss die set and have no problems with 1889, 1911, 96/11, k11 and K31 chambers.
It is Item #546360.

Hornady #546361 K31 dies is nothing more than a marketing thing. So is "Custom Grade New Dimension". You're likely having trouble finding 'em because there aren't that many 7.5 Swiss rifles here.

Ended up ordering the Redding FL set from Prophet River .Don't feel like waiting months on the maybe they're coming in not sure when storyline............shell holder #2 RCBS should be the same as 30-30 /6.5x55 ?

While in my experience, most of the time you get what you pay for, I will say, lee dies are excellent for the money. My buddy loads for his K31 with a 7.5 swiss Lee die. Works just fine. Our hand loads are shooting better than the GP11 so no complaints there. We have Lee dies for just about every caliber we load, and they are just fine in my books.

Got the Redding dies and 100/Privi brass today so I guess I'll build some ammo. Varget.............Re#15 ? 165gr bullets for now but have 150 + 180 as well to play with.Harold

Thanx for the data.........any other suitable powders out there? May end up scoping before fall as iron sights and middle aged+ eyes aren't the best combo.Should I FL size the virgin brass for the straight pull rifles as I never have for regular BA's?Harold

Yes. Treat them as you would for a semi auto rifle and you won't have chambering problems from one swiss rifle to another.
I like to anneal a new batch of brass before the first sizing.

I just finished annealing the 100 brass + FL sizing ,now Ill have to check them to see if they need trimmed as well.Picked up a box of 150gr Norma BT's at the Red Deer gun show over the weekend for plinking. Harold

Do a random test of 5 cases to make sure they will chamber and that the firing pin will move forward when squeezed before putting primers in the cases.
