I've been looking at all sponsors and local stores to no avail... it's all "on order" :bangHead:... I want in stock ready to go . I have a WTB ad posted but thought I'd try here and see if anyone has seen any in their travels?

It's "on order" everywhere with no ETA's...

I just picked up a few boxes of American Eagle to wet my baby's appetite

Mainly interested to see what a 750gr soft point will do to a log

Hornady has warned suppliers not to expect much ammo in Canada this year, in fact they printed a list of ammo that simply will NOT be sent to Canada as the demand in the U.S. remains extremely high. I specifically recall 17 hmr to be one on the list, among several others, I didn't look to see if 50 bmg was on there. In any case, that is the hold up. U.S. demand, if dealers tell you they don't know when they can get it, it translates into its not being shipped to Canada at this point.

Yup and figured that's pretty much the case and since there was some heat on the "fitty's" a little while ago since they were able to take down planes and space craft and satellites and such there was a run on ammo for them.

I was hoping there might be some little small town dealer that had ordered some in for a regular client that moved away and had stock sitting collecting dust on his shelf that I could take off his hands.

Can't remember if you reload or not but I saw an add for 750gr amax bullets in the EE.

Although I guess you would have seen it too no doubt.

I saw one big US seller of reloading equipment and components pull the listing for Hornady BMG bullets because they simply aren't available.

Yeah, I don't reload for it yet, still looking for loaded cartridges.
looking at possibly reloading .223 and .308 now too, it's just hard spending money on the load-in starting a new caliber.

maybe for cheap rounds like 223 or 308, but for 50bmg you should be paying it off very quick. for the lee classic cast 50 bmg press with dies is $220 + scale, trimmer, powder measure, components. plus you can reload other cal's with that press.

That's the problem, I already have two presses, a Lee Pro1000 for pistol cals and a Lee Anniversary kit for rifle and larger cals which I could do the 223 and 308 in but have to buy the components for. with the BMG it's ANOTHER press that I would need. I'll get around to it, my shop is just in ruins right now (we moved, there was a flood, it's just been one thing after another and everything is pretty much buried and not accessible) and hence I want to buy fully rolled and ready to go units.

Like I mentioned some time ago, forget about sourcing Hornady 50 bmg until things settle in the USA. Hornady has sent out a memo to its dealers, with a long list of ammo not to expect this year, and not to expect some until further notice. You really need to call you lgs, and have them bug Korth….. to ensure that when Hornady sends into Canada, that Korth sends some to your lgs. that is likely your only hope, unless of course someone decides to let some go via the ee.

Found some! Thanks!!

bought out two local stores... so I should have enough to hold me for a little bit anyways. Now the next part will be to find a place to shoot them that's not a waste.
