The US Tavor Sar can be had for $1600 USD+ a $250 USD import fee. I am willing to bet that the US SAR could be in your hands for decently under $1950 CAD landed.
The SAR also comes with:
-qd sling swivels
-9mm conversion kit compatibility
Both of with would improve your resale value.

No, you are looking at at least $2100 with shipping and conversion fees+waiting time.
It is all good and stuff to have the SAR, but this is Canada....there is not much support for the SAR.

I am not going to lie. Seems I some how f**ked up my math. I know when I ran the figures on my phone it was while riding the tractor through the rough fields, I must have slipped up and entered a wrong figure somewhere some how.
At least it makes this guys deal a little better. I would still way rather get a SAR at the little difference in price if they are both restricted anyway.
I am fairly certain most parts are interchangeable other than the bolt carrier.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to bringing this to the range. I've fired a NR Tavor before, so I'll be curious to see if there is a difference due to the barrel length. The user in question "congratulated" me shortly after the sale via PM to tell me about the "better" options I had, then proceed to offer to purchase the barrel if at some later date I decide to go NR with a replacement barrel - if I didn't shoot Norc ammo out if - which I am going to do, on both counts
In his defence he did say his math was off openly and he is welcome to his opinion, though I do agree he shouldn't be constantly trying to "educate" his fellow CGNer's on the follies of this offer in this thread. Really, it just seemed like to me it could have been part of his game to discourage others by making them feel like there was a better offer elsewhere as the price possibly went down to a reasonable enough level that he could swoop in and buy it.
I see Alpha Niner your a member at Silverdale - if you see me there with it don't be shy about giving it go. I'm going to throw an Eotech and a magnifier on it.
