ORA Precision Rifle Match 3 - Sunday 15 Jun 2014 Stats up! Debrief here!

Budget for 12 round per match, and extra in case of a re-shoot. They got in 6 matches last match, so I bring 84 rounds minimum.

I got yer back. It's more important to show up, bring 100 rds of ammo and be ready to have fun. Hey, get ready for that next pocketknife draw (well, reverse draw) ... :D

Cheers,
Barney

hi barney I think its a practice on sunday 15 june 2014 not a mr tactical teacher match or am I seeing something you are not on the ora web page

Thanks for the quick reply kombayotch! Just finished neck sizing 100 so I am set!

I'll prime tonight and dump powder tomorrow.

See you at the shoot boys!

What do you look like? So I know to stay away from you when Barney puts us into our groups lol I'm not laying next to your 338 hahaha

yes the ora website tells me it is a practice match not a precision match !

Yes, go with THIS source (ME... :D ) and it is a PR match and a practice. Yes, it's a different (big teacher words warning.... ) paradigm and many of you may not be used to that kinda operation. We will be working together with the TR Practice. Welcome to our new world order  ha ha ha ha

Get ready for 300, 400, 500, 600, and wait for it..... 1000 yards

You heard it right here.... the ORA website is hard to modify. Or shall I say, this forum is easier to manipulate and update. :D

Your thoughts?

cheers and keep helping the nooobies out there.

Barney

Awesome!

For anyone who needs it, the JBM calculation is a great tool:
http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin/jbmtraj-5.1.cgi

Use the models that have '(Litz)' in the name whenever possible. Enter an accurate velocity and an accurate scope height, and use the predicted temperature for Sunday and you should be on paper at 1k. As Terry mentions, note whether or not your loads are still running at supersonic speeds at 1k. Some bullets cross the sound barrier very well (cough!... 190SMK), others do not (cough! ... 168SMK).

The range is in yards or meters? Can I use the range finder to measure the (unknown) targets?

Mons Range? Yards for us old school dudes. Range Finder? What for? When we get to the 300 yard mound, I can tell you the distance.... heh heh... It's 300 yards. Wooohooo! I wish I was this smart back in elementary school.

Bring on the questions. If we get to 20 shooters, I will set up the 'pocketknife' draw once again. :D

Cheers,
Barney

Since you asked for thoughts. Speaking as one of the noobs. Maybe we remove one of the shorter ranges and replace it with a long one in between the 600 and 1000. It will be a big jump from 600-1000 especially for the ballistics etc. I've never taken this load past 600. I don't think many of the noobs have. We won't even find paper at 1000 lol even with calculators help.

Maybe pull the 400 and add a 800 to give us one in the middle. Just a suggestion. Your the boss of course. And I won't kick and scream whatever you chose lol

Edit: but please keep the 1000 because I would love to shoot that range!!!!
