Hi

Any reviews of the FN FNP in 9 or .45? Who carries them in Canada?

Thanks

I don't think they make the FNP anymore, it was replaced with the FNX a few years ago and recently FNH released the striker fired version FNS. That much being said I had one and it was a little tank. super accurate and beautiful trigger pull. Theres a black one in EE in 9mm http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1026498-Fn-fnp9?highlight=fn and a stainless one on the gun dealers sight in used with 5 mags.

on the FN site I can only see the HP and the Five-Seven, it seems they have discontinued everything else? weird

I had an FNP9 identical to IrishCrow pic. I liked the size, built quality but not the extended aftermarket barrel. They only brought in one shipment IIRC.

I've looked at this pistol before but not extensively. The more I look, the more I like it, especially the FNX model.

Ok, I have taken my newly purchased FNX out a couple times and it is a fantastic pistol. I have shot many different quality guns and am very impressed by the FN FNX. It is very accurate, high quality and reliable. I am partial to SIGs especially the P220 but I may have a new favourite.
I do not have the tactical model but think the only difference is the threaded barrel. For under a $1000 new, I have never shot a better .45ACP.

I just saw the tactical 45 version in Captain America. Looks cool with the rmr on it.

Like this FNX tactical

Trigger took some time getting used to but I like it now, until this guy I shot 1911's exclusively so the grip angle was a bit off for me too, always felt like I was aiming low. Got past all that and she's a champ

The price difference between the two is substantial so I hope it's more then a threaded barrel, from my what I seen and felt during handling is

-night sights
-milled slide for red dot
-trigger felt better on reset
-threaded barrel
-3 15 round magazines can't remember but pretty sure the fnp had 14 rounders (not that it matters up here)

Hi

My FN FNX came with three mags as well. Upon closer examination you are right about the barrel, milled slide and sights. According to a comparison on FN everything else is the exact same as far as I can see. There is no mention of any other differences so i doubt the trigger/parts would be different.

This thread started out as an FN FNP discussion but now I am referring to the FN FNX.

10 rounders and the bulky suitcase.

There are some things that have been pointed out to make a price difference between the tactical version and the other, depends on what you are looking for. The tactical version doesn't offer me (TB, Milled slide and night sights and a soft case) anything I really want but that does not mean it not right for someone else.

The FN FNX in either tactical or regular, in my opinion, is a very nice gun.
