Our next match is scheduled for July 20th. Come on out.

This will be our largest match yet with 4 stages planned.

Round count:
Rifle - 150
Pistol - 150
Shotgun - 75
Slug - 15

Setup is for 08:00
Range Brief will be 10:00
First rounds downrange at 11:00 (Sunday hours)

For this match with our open invite to all the WRAS shooters, we will only be charging the match fee and guest fee for CHAS.
Match Fee $10
Guest Fee $20

For those of you new to CHAS or Genesse, a google map link to the range can be found on the CHAS website at www.chas.ab.ca
This will give you directions from your location.

If you are a CHAS member, the guest fee will not apply.
This means even if you are not a CHAS 3-Gun member, you will not need a membership to shoot. This is a great opportunity to come and check out a match on the cheap!!

Heads up on the shoot stages. It would be VERY beneficial for everyone to have slings on both their carbines and their shotguns. A small hint, there may be transitions from pistol to long gun and back again. Your sling set up should be functional for transitions. Please test fit if you have not run with a sling before.

In our eyes, we are all one big 3-gun community. A range closure affects us all. I was planning a wicked double header this weekend and was bummed out. I figured there would be other guys pissed they couldn't shoot so why not ramp up and have it at CHAS!! Glad to have you come out.

I'd interested, although never having been to one I have a couple questions. How many pistol mags do you need for each stage? Also how many rifle and shotguns rounds should be carried on your person to be able to compete each stage. As well I don't have a shot gun, are loaners available?

Bring ammo.... People are always willing to lend a gun. Good on CHAS for helping out. I wish I could be there to shoot and support the other clubs but I will be out of the province.

Stage 1 - Pistol need 30ish rounds (3mags), Shotgun 24 rounds with 5 slugs
Stage 2 - Pistol 30 rounds, carbine 30 rounds, shotgun 8 rounds (no slugs)
Stage 3 - Pistol 20 rounds, carbine 30 rounds
Stage 4 - Pistol 10 rounds, carbine 10 rounds

You should bring minimum:
3 pistol mags (assuming 10 rounders)
3 Lar mags or 6 Pmags or 2 Beowulf Mags
The ability to carry 30 shotshells (pockets, caddies, dump pouch or combination)

Slings for carbine and shotgun.

If you don't have a shotgun or carbine, there are guys (me as well as others) who will loan their rifles. Bring ammo. We don't loan ammo, for some reason it never gets returned.
If you don't have a pistol, you will not be able to participate as we will be doing rifle to pistol transitions and you need to be familiar with pistol safety. Best bet would be to attend our Skills and Drills days first and learn the basics before a match if you don't have anything to participate.

Hope that was helpful!

So far we haven't been flooded with WRAS folks look to pre-register. I think posting here may be just as easy.

if you would publish a course of fire, not just round counts, then you may get some from out of town

I have never seen any 3-gun event post their Cof. In fact, there are currently 3 listings for 3-gun matches around alberta for this summer and all have round counts with no COF laid out. That would end up being like 4 pages to explain the multiple stages of fire. Come or don't. There will be 4 stages of fire, you have a round count. You have asked for the Cof in two different forums. We have detailed out the volume of ammo, required equipment(slings, mag pouches) and let folks know there will be 4 stages to shoot. Our stages typically take longer than most to complete. If people want to come check it out they will, the invite has been extended with the Spruce Grove closure. If "out of towners" don't want to come, we will still have a great shoot like we always do. Remember, we exist as a 3-gun club on our own. Hope to see you out there, you would likely have a better time than sitting on your couch. :HFU:

The OLD WRAS motto was "F**K it Lets do it Live" for a reason. We (I) usually finalized stages while drinking coffee on the way to the match.

Just set up a bunch of stuff and shoot the #### out of it!!

A fun day for all!

Anyone a whiz when it comes to the proper way to use a Vickers sling on an AR? I bought one long ago and have never used it yet. I can fake it, but I'm not too proud to ask. :D
