Aftermarket? Sling hard point attachment (C7 / C8)

I bought an aftermarket sling for use at work (CAF: Army).

But the Stock on the C7/C8 doesn't have enough space on the rear hard point for the sling to attach it.

Is there a "removable" hard point I can get to install in the space on the stock so I can have a more aesthetically pleasing and more reliable way of attaching it? I've searched the net a little but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

PS: For those wondering I shoot left handed so I can't use the existing hard point at the base of the buffer tube for a one point sling, and I prefer two point.

Currently I just use a few loops of paracord with some knots to attach the rear end of the sling which I don't fully trust to hold up to extended wear and tear on ex (and possibly future deployments)

Picture to show where I want to attach the sling:

PPS: Don't get on my case about how "you can't add anything to your rifle that isn't issued" this isn't gucci it's functional and doesn't effect the serviceability of the rifle.

do you mean that the sling slots arent wide enough?

If not that, they why not just loop it thru both the top and bottom slots and then attach running end back thru the buckle?

Darrin and the other AR experts can tell you if that will work with a collapsible stock or not, since the MS has the quick detach button/flush cup knobs you might have a problem there.

Maybe try to sell/trade it for a vickers tac sling?

ok, with the clips.

imo, easiest method is get a grenade pin and a small section of webbing and a buckle. secure short webbing around and thru butt loops, with it fed thru the grenade pin facing up, attach clip to pin?

good luck, i'm sure there are lots of current serving guys on here and in your unit that have used the ms3 and can give you better suggestions.

Blue Force Gear use to make a contractors pack. I don't know if they still do, you might want to contact them. The contractor pack come with a Vicker's sling and a whole bunch of adapters so you could mount it to any weapon. I know you can buy the adaptors individually.

I doubt it would, I've seen guys with those ####ty Canex 5th mag holsters that go on the stock and not a word was said.

I get what you're saying though, this is the reason I'm looking for something low profile and professional looking.

Is it possible to cut the sling? Sewn in parts never stop me... Just melt the end to prevent fraying and use triglides. I like the way BFG recommends mounting to a standard carbine stock better than wrapping the sling over the top of the stock.

RE: BFG recommendation; Can you elaborate or link me to what that looks like, I'm having a hard time picturing it.

Also Yes I can cut it, no I don't really want to. It's an expensive sling (I over paid for the band name) and I don't want to chop it up for that reason and I plan to use it on other rifles later.

Simply run the sling through the lower slot in the buttstock, slide a triglide onto the sling then feed the end back through the slot and attach it back to itself with another triglide. It keeps the sling from rotating up on the stock and rubbing your neck and the rifle carries nicer as its better restrained. Having the sling coming off the outside of the stock rather than the inside works best. If you can find a way to mount the front of the sling at the rear of the handguard the rifle will carry much better than using the front sight swivel. Less slack makes for better retention and prevents the rifle from swinging side to side as you walk.

Not to 'get on your case' but I'll get you the canforgen tomorrow that directly forbids what you're asking for ;)

lol, I'll read it if you link me to it. But it's one of those things where it's easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

At least I'm not trying to put an angled foregrip or personal sight on it like I've seen some guys try.
